@petebaldwin But there’s the rub. Their explody F1 tires are not new, and yet they continue to spend hundreds of millions to be a major sponsor of F1 and have their logo splashed all over tracks around the w […]
Roger Ayles commented on the post, Leclerc "very happy for Seb" after Aston Martin's first podium 1 week, 1 day ago
@petebaldwin Just look at the F2/F3 2021 format for further proof.
The 1st sprint race sets the grid for the 2nd sprint race & the 1st sprint race has thus far been the least interesting of the 3 races over the […]
Alianora La Canta commented on the post, Leclerc backed off before Hamilton passed him for lead 1 week, 1 day ago
@petebaldwin Lewis most likely would, simply to avoid the penalty (though he wouldn’t have “feared” the penalty so much as been confident the penalty would be applied). I can well imagine Max pressing the […]
@petebaldwin It still remains to be seen if Perez actually improved. Specifically tracks like Baku and Canada are the few tracks where he puts in a decent performance.

@petebaldwin I couldn’t agree more with you, although I was more unhappy about the standing restart instead of rolling.
Tifoso1989 commented on the post, Perez wins as Hamilton and Verstappen fail to score in race of dramas 1 week, 3 days ago
I don’t understand why they are in F1…
That is one of the last legacies of Bernie Ecclestone in F1. He personally intervened to award them their first contract in 2011 to produce those high deg […]
@petebaldwin Likely because there are agreements within the teams as to who gets preference about when to go, usually alternating from race to race. Teams do it differently: some swap the order of who goes out […]
Jere commented on the post, Does F1 need a rule to discourage deliberate qualifying crashes? 2 weeks, 4 days ago
@petebaldwin My point is more specifically that in Motorsport, the purpose is to be as fast as possible, be it driving around a circuit in the lowest possible time or driving from point A to point B, i.e., […]
Robbie commented on the post, F1 considering more bonus points for sprint race 'grand slam' 2 weeks, 5 days ago
@petebaldwin I don’t at all think this is for incentivizing. I think it is just being considered as a nice little bonus for someone who actually were to achieve what to me would be a rare and special thing. […]
JimG commented on the post, No fun to be had in Monaco Grand Prix even if you're winning, says Hamilton 2 weeks, 6 days ago
@petebaldwin Somebody (Prost?) said that driving a F1 car around Monaco is like riding a bicycle around your living room – it’s a challenge, but it’s not much fun. Especially when you’re not cruising around at the front!
Balue commented on the post, F1 will consider adopting "intelligent" IndyCar rule in wake of Leclerc crash 3 weeks ago
@petebaldwin Does a drive lose his lap times if his brakes fail and he brings out a red flag? In the race he loses a bunch of points so why is it unthinkable that it costs in qualifying too.
Todfod commented on the post, Driveshaft on Leclerc's car not checked after crash – Binotto 3 weeks, 2 days ago
Ferrari are amateurs. Any top team would have checked the driveshaft… or pretty much the entire rear of the car. It’s no surprise that they can’t win championships.

@petebaldwin – He’s had pressure from the moment he walked into F1, probably motorsports in general, nothing has been easy for him. Well, depending on how you look at the domination of the Mercedes Hamilton […]

@petebaldwin You can certainly argue that it’s against the spirit of the rules but that doesn’t matter. That a misunderstanding of the rules.
