At the very least, this is absolutely amazing content
PhilEReid started the topic Is there a practical reason F1 cars come to the grid before the formation lap? in the forum Formula One 6 months, 1 week ago
A friend of mine has asked the question in the title. The idea of the formation and the recon laps before arriving on the grid both make sense, but it’s true that in theory cars could start the formation lap from the pits without much issue (aside from leaving their pit boxes in the correct order).
I guess the question is, outside of the rules…[Read more]
PhilEReid commented on the post, Poll – Which F1 team has the best driver line-up for 2022? 6 months, 1 week ago
I think an argument could be made for either of Merc, McLaren or Ferrari, although I’d only ever vote for Merc or McLaren on what, in theory, they could do. Personally I rate Norris at Leclerc’s level, but […]
Yeah, this is what I thought would be the case. I think perhaps because of his struggling start, I put him down as 8th. I still don’t think I’d rate him higher than Gasly, or in the top 6, but it’s certainly […]
I have Vettel and Ricciardo the same, And then Perez and Bottas the other way around. Ocon is the same, but then I have Alonso in 8th and Russell in 7th. It was a close call on both pairs that I have either way […]
Both Vettel and Ricciardo are exactly where I ranked them too. 14th to 17th I have the same drivers, just in a different order. Personally I ranked Schumacher above both Alfa’s (in 14th), and I put Giovinazzi […]
I think this is a solid list so far, exactly as I have it. It’s the next 3-4 that I struggled with. At least the order of them. I think I picked the next 4 easily enough for me, but that order was tricky to work out.
PhilEReid commented on the post, F2 and F3 to hold separate championships at fewer venues in 2021 1 year, 9 months ago
So, I guess we’re expecting the venues will be all the European tracks, plus the usual Bahrain and Abu Dhabi. That sits at 13 venues. I doubt they’d go to the America’s, Australia or Japan due to it being down to […]
PhilEReid commented on the post, Shwartzman passes team mate Schumacher for second F2 win 2 years ago
Hell of a performance by Shwartzman. For whatever reason, it’s clear the alternate strategy was the better strategy, but still he played it to absolute perfection. Really well done by Mazepin as well. […]
I’ve been waiting for this for as long as I’ve followed F1, I’m so happy. I have no idea whether the race will be any good, but it’s one of my top 5 tracks on the planet. The qualifying around here is going to be […]
Schumacher can’t be making those mistakes from good positions if he wants to be challenging for the title.
Really good from Zhou up until it all broke for him. He had some really good pace and was relatively […]
PhilEReid commented on the post, Hamilton leads clean sweep of practice sessions for Mercedes 2 years, 1 month ago
Max looking like the main potential challenger to the Mercedes duo, but they just look too fast on race pace. Think it’ll be a Merc 1-2, Max 3rd and then Leclerc 4th, and then 5th is potentially up for grabs for 3 […]
PhilEReid commented on the post, Which F1 team has the best – and worst – driver line-up for 2019? 3 years, 7 months ago
According to the poll, either you have breaking news that we don’t, or Kimi is back at Ferrari, Leclerc has gone to Red Bull and Gasly is out.
Just seen that the Zurich layout was revealed about a month ago.
This is the satellite view of it.
Disappointingly, although it might work out better, the track seems to be run in the wrong direction. However, the run down to turn 10 and then the run from turn 10 to turn 1 are both about equal in…[Read more]
