Most surprising fact I came across, was this is the first season since 1991 that neither Schumacher or Hamilton has won a race. And the first season of racing for Hamilton without a win since 2001

This is what I think a lot of the analysis ignores. Every driver should have an equal opportunity to race, regardless of their position (unless already/about to be lapped during green flag running). The unlapping […]

You mean in the period where over one driver died per year? I have nothing against tracks being difficult and punishing drivers for mistakes. However, punishing and injuring drivers due to car damage or breakdown […]

And a 10 second penalty for HAM at Silverstone!

Hamilton got a 5 second penalty for both of those, Bottas a 5 place penalty at the following race.

If they’re insisting on using tarmac run-off instead of grass or gravel can’t we have the same kerbs as the Red Bull Ring? Sausages, but running parallel to the track thereby risking damage to the floor of the car […]

As the old saying goes, “There’s lies, damn lies, and statistics”. Claiming sprint qualifying marginally improves “the show” based on 6.7% approval definitely falls into this category.

Finally some balance! I am a Hamilton fan (not fanboy…) and I think he was more to blame for what happened, however both could have given a little more and made it through without the terrifying crash for […]
pimbers4955 commented on the post, F1 teams want alternative to kerbs which can "destroy a car" 1 year, 7 months ago
Whilst I agree in principle with the sentiment “just stay between the lines”, as Otmar correctly says, in a race situation you shouldn’t be in a position where if you’re pushed off the track the car is damaged […]

I’d agree with everything you say there – the dust issue just ruined what could otherwise have been some very interesting races! Although the massive differential in talent between a tarmac driver like Jenson Button and WRC/WRX/Dakar drivers such as Loeb or Sainz may just have made this gap more obvious. Maybe as well as having a male and female…[Read more]

All this means in the future (if the rule isn’t changed) is the teams have to discuss with the driver on the grid, and then if they feel the need to pit they just tell the team and assume their complete silence means “OK”.

Am I right in thinking this could be for this weekend (British GP) and the following weekend (70th Anniversary GP) given the 14 day period? Or is it 10 day…or 7….who knows!

So let me get this straight, Baku with its castle section is allowed but Silverstone (I assume Bridge corner) isn’t??

I’ve thought about this before, and in my view, they need a hard tyre that lasts around 40% of the race distance, with a slow drop off, and a soft tyre that lasts 10-20%. Then you would get drivers trying to eek […]

I do like Suzi, and I do think she will eventually get more relaxed in the role as it all seems a little bit forced at the minute. No different to how Jake, EJ and DC were back in 2009 though if I remember correctly
