But, but…what about the challenge he saw at Renault?
Conclusion: he either likes money more or he dislikes the performances of Verstappen more than being in a promising car. -
J. Mead commented on the post, Daniel Ricciardo voted Driver of the Year by F1 Fanatic readers again 6 years, 5 months ago
Totally agree. There seems to be some sort of recency effect, where Hamilton’s flawless performances in the last races have more value than his mediocre performances seen in the first half of the season.

+1
Racing is not only about who is the fastest, but als about determination, personal strategies and investment. Hamilton clearly showed those attributes in the last races. But Rosberg showed them the entire season.

who passes completely to the left of the new kerb element on the apex
No biggie. As long as the drivers touch the “kerb element” with their right wheels they should be fine and not fined.
And in my opinion, if […] -

Some drivers did a solid job (e.g. Hamilton), some drivers didn’t. In the meantime I almost fell asleep if it wasn’t for Max Verstappen. Gruesome, slow engine, but thrilling overtakes. He gets my vote.

A nice glorious farewell would have been great, but
I guess the millions of euro’s will do the trick as well. Still, Luca deserved better, like a more ceremonial position at the sideline.
I hope a true Italian […] -

Really loved the save of Kvyat! Heroic stuff. Apart from that incident, a lot of expectations, but almost none fullfilled. Credits to Ricciardo though, intelligent moves.
Gave it a six.

Grosjean and Vettel started quite similarly in F1. Promising speed, but also dumb errors. I also believe that their driving style is quite similarly. And they both don’t look like racing drivers!
Lotus didn’t […]

An awful lot of people seem to be leaving Lotus it seems.

J. Mead commented on the post, Williams refute Maldonado car tampering claims 9 years, 6 months ago
Maldonado is sponsored by the late president Chavez. It seems that his sponsorcontract expires in 2015, and with that the likelihood of Maldonado driving in F1 in 2015 declines.

Vettel. Impressive to see an empty start/finish straight behind him, even long after he’s already snatched some more corners.

No doubt: Hulk.
Vettel is close, but he made one error. But which 10% voted for Alonso? Terrible weekend: outqualified and frustrated on saturday, outperformed by his teammate on sunday, who was ordered to […]

J. Mead commented on the post, Sutil penalised for holding up Hamilton 9 years, 8 months ago
Well, it’s quite fascinating to expect a driver to move out of the way at more or less full speed at parabolica. Maybe the stewards know some magic trick. Way too harsh.

J. Mead commented on the post, Softer tyres and hot weather should help Lotus 9 years, 10 months ago
Qualifying is key, in my opinion. If Mercedes suffered from not being able to participate in the Young Drivers Test, Vettel may well be on pole. This could make it difficult for Lotus. If Mercedes can take the […]

Can anyone explain the difference between Van De Garde crashing into Maldonado, Grosjean hitting Ricciardo, and Perez taking on Raikkonen? I saw three overly aggressive moves/mistakes, yet only Grosjean is heavily penalized.

J. Mead commented on the post, Rate the race: 2012 European Grand Prix 10 years, 11 months ago
In terms of racing we saw only a few moves, most of them at the same corner. Due to technical failures and an overaggressive Maldonado, the race got spiced up. Therefore, I would say a 7 at best.

J. Mead commented on the post, Why McLaren turned their nose up 11 years ago
If the noses will become lower, and the area around the cockpit remains at the same height, then the step in the nose will increase. As the cockpit level will not be lowered, I”m very curious how they put this […]
