I could see Vegas being a 2 day event to reduce the impact on the strip which has historically been the major concern from the casinos. Qualifying could take place Friday night and the race Saturday night. I think […]

A lot of IndyCar drivers take up 3rd driver rolls in the IMSA endurance races so I could see him being a Ferrari factory driver in IMSA while racing full-time in IndyCar.
Sean commented on the post, Johnson commits to full IndyCar season including Indy 500 in 2022 7 months, 4 weeks ago
Its not like he is taking a seat away from anyone like what would happen in F1. That entire program exists only because of the money he brings and will likely go away when he does.

I entirely disagree with you. While there are drivers here and there that might not be up to snuff its no worse than F1 in that regard, just more seats available. The front of the IndyCar field is chock full of […]

CART IRL USAC its all considered IndyCar today. Plus that’s not an exhaustive list just what I can remember off the top of my head. if you look at it in percentage terms its a huge success just not many get the […]
Sean commented on the post, Palou's stunning rise from F1 feeder series to IndyCar champion – via Japan 10 months, 2 weeks ago
I was rooting for Palou pretty much from his first qualifying session. There was something about his driving that really showed a spark of brilliance. By the time the Indy 500 rolled around and he put down his 4 […]
Sean commented on the post, Palou's stunning rise from F1 feeder series to IndyCar champion – via Japan 10 months, 2 weeks ago
I’d argue that IndyCar is also the top level in a different ecosystem. Calling a singular championship championship the top as a blanket statement is a bit like saying a tiger is the top predator until it meets a […]

Having watched Illott in F2, I really do rate him highly. I’m a bit shocked that he can’t find an F1 drive but that just shows how limited those seats are. His story in IndyCar will need to be measured by how far […]

Sean commented on the post, Verstappen's post-race burn-out celebration "will not be tolerated" again 1 year, 1 month ago
The biggest difference between F1 and IndyCar is in F1 the FIA has literally outlawed fun and in IndyCar often times the first question a driver is asked is whether they had fun.

Structurally the aeroscreen is pretty much identical to the halo with the additional screen for small debris protection.
Also, Monaco could have used a crash or two.

They’ll look even more compliant and planted with the new regs bringing in big wheels and softer suspension
Sean commented on the post, Australian Tennis Open could be "template" for F1 return's to Melbourne – Ricciardo 1 year, 6 months ago
It sounds nice in theory but from my experience here in the US with a couple of international sports/ competitions attempting similar it doesn’t work out too well. When an event is annual you can get local support […]

I agree with Sir Jackie Stewart. I do not want to nor am I able to take away from Hamilton’s success but its hard to compare a charmed career like his that has always had top if not absolutely dominant machinery […]

Re COTD: Its worth noting the IndyCar engine deal is actually HPD a subsidiary of the North American Honda subsidiary which has been known to have some liberties afforded it thanks to that separation. Which is […]
Sean commented on the post, Honda and Chevrolet agree "long term" commitments to IndyCar 1 year, 10 months ago
The entire IndyCar program probably costs Honda less than the manufacturing costs of the engine supply for a single F1 car for the season let alone R&D expenditure.

Having a young family and a wife with a career it would be tough to see Roman picking up and moving to America. It would be a similar commitment to the few American kids that pick up and move to Europe hoping the […]

If the streets are wide enough I think the Nashville street coarse layout could be a hell of a lot of fun to watch. Even the run around the (massive) car park has some nice distinctions to each of the corners that […]
