“Yeah I remember you from the lunch menu in school.”
They arguably got lucky to win with the wrong strategy: 2-stop was faster. If Perez wasn’t held up as much, we would all be here saying how it was a terrible choice to go for the 1-stop and the whole field knew it […]
1) Verstappen could have let Perez past on the start, let him shoot into the distance, while defending all cars behind easily. It would have been a nice bit of action for Verstappen compared to a now pretty dull […]

Verstappen, for doing what he had to
His job was to get Perez ahead of Leclerc. Vertappen failed to do what he had to do this race.
@Mayrton No hierarchy would mean Verstappen is on an equal level with the other team members. That’s not the case here. He made it clear that he is the only one in charge, and everyone else will do as he wishes.

Hamilton did a proper calculated job of neutralising the biggest threat to Russell’s maiden F1 victory.
I don’t think a penalty would have been any deterrence for making the move, and rightfully so.
He was being […]

The skill of overtaking is in picking the breaking point under different conditions and being off the ideal line through the corner, compromising the exit, which compromises the next corner etc.
If the car […]

3h is also not a hard limit, because cars still have to complete the lap after the 3 hour mark.
Everyone agrees when the timer runs out there should be one more lap, so it’s consistent with the 2 hour […]

Idk if you misspoke but pitting both cars gives Verstappen the chance to get new softs *and* have track positon.
You are right though that Toto is (cleverly) hiding the fact that they gave in to Russell’s snap […]

Alonso, got blocked in quali not his fault. Then on Sunday he got 110% out of the car. The (V)SCs went against him: no complainting on the radio, just dealt with it masterfully.
The thing is it all depends on the track lay-out:
If there’s a corner to be cut on the outside, the defender is okay with going off if no space is left because they get to keep the position by rejoining the […]

Drivers will only answer what tracks they believe it is best for their car and team to score some extra points, not what is actually best for the sport. It’s all political.
@TFLB That’s the storyline Sainz wanted his team to believe, when he displayed his best debating skills during the safety car period. He sold this idea rather well to them, and to you.
The point is that if Sainz, Hamilton and Perez are battling on track, Leclerc will easily be doing faster laps than all of the other cars fighting for 2nd behind. Leclerc had tyres to do the remaining laps in […]

Ferrari didn’t let their drivers race. They let them debate.
“Hey I’m faster, let me through”, “Yeah but I don’t have DRS and I’m managing tyres, I can go faster but that’s bad for our total race time.”, “I can […]

They’re still sour Perez held Hamilton up in Abu Dhabi. What a heroic defense was that!
