Michael commented on the post, Compensation for crash damage? It might just happen in budget cap F1 2 months, 3 weeks ago
@tdm Excellent point – it would penalize younger drivers and smaller teams. In fact, the stewards may not penalize them as they’d take into account the implications.
Balue commented on the post, Compensation for crash damage? It might just happen in budget cap F1 2 months, 3 weeks ago
@tdm Do facts really bear that out? This year, the write-offs have happened more to the front, and the L1 squeezes (typcially 3 cars into a corner) seem to happen more in the midfield, but where damages are anyway […]
Well, at least Elite let’s you play with them though, rather unlike that other game that got even higher numbers on the buys but still isn’t running much of a game or even running stabily, right @tdm
Asanator commented on the post, Little support for proposed ban on anti-stall and other 'driver aids' 2 years, 3 months ago
@tdm half of the engines can re-start via the MGU-K though, so you wouldn’t really be losing the car from the race due to a stall.

@tdm Yeah they really need to engage ex-F1 drivers to point out the situations where quick-intelligent decisions were made resulting in a positive outcome.
The direction of it I do like though; trying to […]

Thank you for explaining @tdm
It is a little bit confusing to me, because i always thought that regularly means “constantly” and not “in many times”.
Yeah the data that i can confidently compare is the year […]
Alonso commented on the post, Horner backs Verstappen's explanation for Austrian GP row 3 years, 3 months ago
@tdm: Makes sense. But still, this year the drivers say that they start to feel the loss of grip as soon as they get within 2 seconds of the guy in front. And from what I’ve seen so far, a slipstream only works […]

@tdm – thanks, that makes sense.
Phylyp commented on the post, FIA adding more monitoring to Ferrari's power unit for next race 3 years, 5 months ago
@tdm +1 to this. Monaco isn’t exactly the best place to check if a team is using more power than allowed, so although the FIA have said they’re now satisfied, it’s good they’re extending the monitoring to a […]
Ivan commented on the post, Alonso: McLaren have best handling car this weekend 3 years, 12 months ago
@tdm Would you elaborate? I went to check it out I kinda get the feeling that the paradox is about drawing conclusions based on out-of-context statistics. But my intention was to forecast McLaren’s likely […]
@tdm At the time many of the upgrades were been asked for they were making profits. The losses are relatively new & aren’t as totally down to F1 as they like to claim.
There has been a lot of mis-management & […]

Yes, I’ve met and worked with Japanese people. I can assure you that losing face is bad in a lot of cultures, and although the Japanese find it ego crushing there are other cultures equally offended by […]

@tdm I don’t agree at all that you couldn’t see a pass like that without DRS: Hamilton’s 2007 pass, mentioned in the article, being a case in point.

Yes @tdm, Hamilton prepared that overtake beautifully!
I think it’s overlooked because it’s Hamilton in the W07 (and most people are fed up of seeing him), but altering the line to not be in the dirty air in the […]

@tdm I agree wholly with A and B
I didn’t suggest he should start the race on damaged tyres, mechanical damage should obviously be repaired, same for damaged tyres being changed out. But I think there should be a consequence for a driver […]
