I will advise you having done General Admission Twice 2012, 2013, get there early on Sunday if you want a good spot, when I say spots fill up Quickly, I mean it! I would get to the gate of your chosen area no later than half 5 in the morning. We have gone to Woodcote/Luffield both years, we have had a fondness for the concrete tiered general admission area, because it provides ample space for your fold up chair and on a tiered platform so you can see, plus its also next to a big screen!
Saturday you don’t really need to get there before 7AM, but still to get a good spot keep your spot! (Once your there you can’t really move until after the F1 has stopped!
Take a Fold Up Chair, they allow almost anything in the Silverstone, I would advise taking a pair of binoculars each, and money, you will need a lot of that.
But no you should have a good weekend. Friday is a good day with a roving grandstand, do make it a priority to see from the pits, but get there for P1 but make sure you are there very early again soon after gates open (within the hour of gates open)

This is my first year NOT doing General Admission, No longer do I have to get up at ridiculous hours to get a space, my Godmother has bought me a Grandstand ticket for Club Silverstone at Maggots/Becketts…Anyone know what time I should arrive to get a spot in the Main Pits Straight Grandstand for Saturday Qualifying?

Not looking forward to this rain coming in for Thursday and Friday, It hopefully wont put a dampner on the weekend…Just a shame because they won’t come out on Friday if its wet like predicted! Shame, mind you the weekend (If it holds up) Will be fine and by no where to the standards of last year, just a shame Friday will be more consistent rain rather than showers like earlier predicted in the week!

Thanks very much, well about those Radios can I just use my Phones radio, or something of that degree or is Silverstone Radio a bit iffy with other products other than Silverstone official?

I never queued in the Road queues towards the circuit because we walked/biked from the campsite, but I can assure you, the queues are crazy long and they are crazy long even at 5:45 AM!!!!! So I would advise a campsite for 2 nights, I would recommend a cheap one with no frills (Just a field) I am staying here this year…Dadford Road Campsite! No more than £40-50!

I cannot wait to go, Weather looks like it will be better than last year (It could not have got much worse) Its nice to know what I am doing this year, rather than last year which was my first year not having a clue where, what and how.
As for General Admission, For Qualifying we watched at Maggots/Beckets, because its so fantastic to see the F1 cars at full throttle through there, but for the race we watched from Luffield, because you see the cars for a full U turn plus you see the overtaking from the straight including DRS, and that in my opinion is the best place to watch a load of action and certainly a nice section to get to. As said Abbey is tiny and not really worth it, Vale/Club is a big area and you will always get a spot there, but it is not the most exciting corner, standard Break turn and full throttle onwards. I got there at 6am for Race Day, the gates had already opened by this time (They are meant to be opened at 6am) And the place was packed, but you are able to nudge yourself into a good spot, its just you have to look carefully, F1 fans and their chairs can look like they take up a lot more space than they actually do!

Sky offers, about 4-6 on board cameras, Tean twitter feed, Pit lane, Official timing board, tracker, throughout the race! Fewer on board during Practice!

If Hamilton had made the re-pass stick on Alonso down Wellington when Alonso has use of DRS, and Hamilton got passed, but lack of grip made him lose the momentum in Luffield!

Prices have gone up once again for 2013!!! Its now £165 for a General Admission ticket for the weekend!
    http://www.silverstone.co.uk/events/2013-Formula-1-Santander-British-Grand-Prix/?tab=Book-now&ticketType=49680

This is silly, especially when I can go to Circuit De Catalunya for half the price! I can actually make a full holiday out in Spain for the money of a Silverstone General Admission and camping!!!

However they have given those choosing grandstands a better choice this year, by giving your specific areas in accordance to price! With a better look at what you are paying for! With the use of Ticket bands and panoramic views of that band!

I need to know whether it is worth getting a hotel in Barcelona and getting either the bus or train to the circuit, or camping at campingf1 in a pre-erected tent!?
I see tickets are dirt cheap in comparison to Silverstone, so therefore I was thinking of doing grandstand J (the cheap main straight grandstand) then stay at Campingf1 for convenience, but is it very hard to actually get to the circuit!?

I am looking at the Circuit De Catalunya for next year, with a combination with a trip to Salou!!
However the experience was great but I don’t wan’t to do another grand prix! and thats not because of the weather!

CampingF1 was an utter disgrace!! The mud was everywhere, no one could actually get out of the camp site, even the tractor was starting to get stuck!
This was my first GP, and although the weather was bad, it was great to see and hear an F1 car for the first time, although I don’t wish to return. I do not see the appeal in going year after year! However I did enjoy my first GP!
The mud was unbelievable all over the circuit, the fact that even the F1 cars could not escape it! LOL! Glad I brought wellies!
I decided that although I hate camping, it is pointless trying to drive to the circuit! It is simply too busy, and you are better off spending the otherwise parking money on camping!
Also I am glad I took my bike to the circuit, it was a real God saint, when it came to getting around, and then getting back to the campsite!

This is worrying now, surely its just going to ruin everything!!! Non stop rain, flooding, no track action on Friday as a consequence, and very very wet English Motor racing fans!!!
Oh this will be interesting for a first grand Prix!!!
