Ben Rowe commented on the post, Mercedes feel closer to the title fight after Silverstone win – Wolff 1 hour, 27 minutes ago
Virtually all your examples are not big mistakes, especially when you compare them to the mistakes hamilton has made this season.
Ben Rowe commented on the post, Mercedes feel closer to the title fight after Silverstone win – Wolff 9 hours, 7 minutes ago
They also feel closer as they took their title rival out of the race. That is half the reason.
Hamilton has had rather a lot of good luck help him out this year at times he himself has made a mistake. Imola as […]
Ben Rowe commented on the post, Bottas leads Mercedes one-two in second practice at Hungaroring 1 day, 1 hour ago
Can we all now confirm that Ocon will finish 4th? No. It is just 1 session….
Penalties were far more harsh a few years ago. Bottas got a drive through and 2 penalty points (effectively a 30 second penalty that you couldn’t do when you were pitting). And that was for braking a bit too late […]
Ben Rowe commented on the post, Schumacher wants to understand Mazepin's tyre management advantage 1 week, 4 days ago
I’m not 100% sure Mercedes was obviously the best car. It isn’t the first time, but Ferrari did actually look close to them. Leclerc could easily keep hamilton behind to begin with and I think it was simply […]
Ben Rowe commented on the post, Rate the race: 2021 British Grand Prix Sprint Qualifying 2 weeks ago
The title of this page really needs changing given how many articles mentioned it was not a race. What happened to “rate the sprint qualifying” ?
Ben Rowe commented on the post, Latifi was 'losing six-tenths on the straights' in qualifying 2 weeks ago
Well, 14th actually, but I doubt he will have been quick enough to beat Russell in Q1, which his claim of 6 tenths would have been.
Ben Rowe commented on the post, Stroll has total faith in son's "raw young talent" 2 weeks, 3 days ago
He’s still at the right age to still be learning stuff. The number of races surely doesn’t limit how much more you can learn. I don’t see how you don’t consider him a young driver “at all” Hamilton started his F1 […]
Very interesting. It does look like these things could develop further as it does look a bit clunky the way it instantly softens when you are going beyond a certain speed then becomes clear at lower […]
I haven’t really played any serious racing games (unless Forza Motorsport 3 and 4 offline count). But one thing from all the pictures and videos i see of much more advanced games still misses something that has […]
Ben Rowe commented on the post, Who should Mercedes hire as Hamilton's team mate for 2022? 2 weeks, 6 days ago
This is where I think people praise Russell too much and the opposite for Bottas. Bottas’s race pace is generally one of his weaker areas – but not always. And he is up against the very best. […]
Ben Rowe commented on the post, Who should Mercedes hire as Hamilton's team mate for 2022? 3 weeks ago
One thing I notice is that people always pay closer attention to drivers in the top teams than those further back. Russell gets talked about a lot, but we don’t actually see as much from him. Bottas got a huge […]
Ben Rowe commented on the post, Giovinazzi and Norris are most-improved drivers in F1 2021 ratings 3 weeks ago
If this is based on experience and their performance overall – if you include Bottas’s williams years, it isn’t unrealistic for him to be in the top 6 if I’m honest. He has looked worse recently, but top drivers […]
I’ve gone into depth about each of Kimi’s and Giovinazzi’s races this season on other forums. Giovinazzi has looked the better of the two on race day virtually every race other than this last one – but he’s just […]
I appreciate the effort you have gone into here with the clips.
I don’t agree with your first point though. Schumacher had got his nose clearly ahead of Ocon, and that won’t have been invisible for Giovinazzi. […]
Yea i really struggle to see how Sainz was better than qualifying on race day. Sainz lost 3 places down to a bad start. Leclerc looked set to get past Perez twice, but both times unreasonably got forced off track. […]
Ben Rowe commented on the post, Hamilton's bodywork damage cost him up to 0.7s per lap – Mercedes 3 weeks, 5 days ago
Bottas was told not to go over the kerb at turn 10 (which he hadn’t been doing) but based on what seemed to cause Hamilton damage. Bottas was told around lap 36 – half way through the race. If say Hamilton lost […]
Ben Rowe commented on the post, Mazepin and Latifi given 30s penalties, Raikkonen 20s, others cleared 3 weeks, 5 days ago
the vast majority of comments I’ve read and heard thought Kimi was almost 100% responsible for this. You shouldn’t be that surprised given what most think – as well as the stewards decision.
Ben Rowe commented on the post, Verstappen cruises to fifth win as damage confines Hamilton to fourth 3 weeks, 6 days ago
His 2nd place in Imola was indeed gifted. He likely will have finished behind Bottas (who was awful) had Russell not taken him out. As Hamilton will have been well over a lap down after he pitted if not for the […]
