I’m a bit unsure how i will watch F1 next year. I don’t have room for a big TV in my room so I’ve always relied on a monitor that I use with my PC. For TV stuff, I’ve always used a freeview HD box. That has soon ended in terms of live F1 now. For the non live races this year, I’ve paid for a nowtv week pass and connected a nowtv box to my monitor. I get really frustrated that it keeps not working properly. I’m guessing that it is only supposed to work with TVs. They really do try to limit the devices compatibility.

I noticed that at the beginning of this season, i noticed sky offered a 9 months pass for £150 which i didn’t think was too bad compared to the previous prices. But as i could watch half of the races , qualifying and practice sessions life on channel 4 this year, it wasn’t worth getting that as it would result in being about £50 more. It will be incredibly frustrating if they don’t offer that again this year now it is exclusively on Sky F1. I get the feeling that if they don’t, it will just be because they know more people will buy their stuff anyway because there is not no other legal way to watch everything live in the UK.

All this said, The line up team on Sky is really poor IMO. I’ve often skipped the sky practice sessions because they are so painful with crofty. As he often talks about what he ate the other night rather than what is on screen. Ben Edwards on Channel 4 just stays on topic and sounds so much more enthusiastic. I hope Channel 4 continue doing highlights, but I wish sky would use their commentary team and merge the rest of the line up.

I expect I will get this £150 9 month deal if they do it next year. But sky is sometimes so disappointing that I may regret it if i do. I may get to the point of either watching the freeview highlights at the time or watch it later as a recording.

I suppose what you mean is that Bottas could well have been as good as he is now last year. It could have just been the williams he had last year that was letting him down a bit.

I think Perez is getting better than he was last year and he did very well to finnish 3rd in Bahrain.

    1) Rosberg – He is in the fastest car there is and he doesn’t seem to be making the few small mistakes that Hamilton is this season.

    2) Bottas – Compared to last year, Bottas is finnishing much higher up and in the last 3 races, ending up 3rd in Austria, 2nd in Britain and 2nd in Germany.

    3) Hamilton – He still is doing very well considering how many races he hasn’t managed to complete and he still isn’t far behind Rosberg in the points at all. He does seem to make contact with quite a lot of people when he is overtaking though.

    4) Ricciardo – Showing that Red Bull is capable of winning a race and very often beating his team mate in both the qualifiying and the races.

    5) Alonso – More than half of his finishes this season have been in the top 5. The other 5 have still been within the points.

    6) Hulkenberg – Has finished every race this year and also gained points on each one. I hope to see him on the podium sometime this year.

    7) Vettel – He is having a lot less luck this season and seems to be having quite a lot more technical problems than his team mate Ricciardo. He has managed to qualify in the top 5 in half of the races this season at least.

    8) Perez – Sometimes manages to qualify in the top 10 but often finishes quite a bit higher than the posision he started at. It was good to see him finish 3rd in Bahrain.

    9) Button – Overall, I think Butten has been quite good. It was interesting to watch the end of the British GP and how close he was to coming 3rd.

    10) Magnussen – Great start at first this season but not as much any more. The latest collision that involved him, I am not quite sure weather it was him or Massa that caused it.
