I’ll admit I have no idea who he is or what formula he drives currently but he did 91 laps and probably countless more in a simulator. After 91 laps any racing driver should be able to hit his maximum. Not knowing […]

Oops, didn’t realize he was on Ultras too, same feeling as above post now.

Side note, Kubica 1:18.5 is 1 tenth off of Jolyon’s 1:18.4 in Q2.

I don’t really think it is impressive. Its a different tyre and different day. Alonso did a 1:17.5 and Vandoorne did 1:17.8. Half a second (than Stoff) on a tyre that’s supposed to be half a second faster or more […]

Neither Mercedes nor Renault were constructors in 2009 and 2010. Renault sold most of the team in 2010 and were definitely checked out as constructors by mid-season.
To be clear I’m referring to winning the […]

I agree with 20 being the minimum, I think my comment was misconstrued to sounding like I only wanted 8 cars. My main point is I’d rather have 12 competitive cars with 8 back markers than 28 with 16 cars being 8 […]

Just for clarification, I agree that F1 is too expensive for privateer teams and it needs to figure out how to let those teams be sustainable. However if you think of a simple business, if you don’t have any […]

Since the vaporware known as USF1 appeared in 2010 I always thought the F1 entry process was critically flawed. How can you accept a new team and then give them 8-10 months to build a car? Granted you’re employing […]

Maybe this belongs in Going to a Grand Prix.
Anyone know how to attend the test sessions on Barcelona? Tickets? Restrictions? I searched online and a few companies sell the RBR hospitality package for testing but they’re sold out and not what I want. I just want to sit in the grand stands and see/greet the drivers in between the garages and their…[Read more]

Jared H commented on the post, F1 or GP2 in 2017? Stroll should take his own advice 6 years, 3 months ago
100% agree with @asanator, I think he should do a GP2 campaign to hone his craft even further but if there is no seat available then there is no point. While he may not do well in his debut season, if he really […]
Jared H commented on the post, Two rule changes F1 could make to stop Verstappen's 'dangerous' moves 6 years, 5 months ago
I don’t really have an opinion on the events in Belgium but I don’t think DRS is the root of all evil. I think it helps tremendously to avoid parade racing. Although it makes overtaking a lot easier than it used […]

I still agree with Toto, its natural for everyone to copy the fastest team and after many iterations everyone will eventually arrive at a common formula.
I think you also have to take account of finances and […]
Jared H commented on the post, Women may not be fast enough for F1 – Ecclestone 6 years, 9 months ago
I think female drivers could have a serious advantage since they are physically smaller and lighter than males. Having a driver that is 15kg lighter could definitely help. Bernie, like usual is just being a clown. […]

They’re getting fatter and fatter, over 100kg heavier than 2008. I’ve read Keith’s article: http://www.f1fanatic.co.uk/2013/08/20/why-f1-cars-keep-getting-heavier/ and I see the reasons why.
I agree that […]

Simple vehicle dynamics, the car is about 100kg heavier now than it was 10 years ago. Power levels may be similar but down force has also decreased. Even with 10 year newer tyre tech and slicks its impossible to […]

If you want to cut costs you have to have the same regulations for years. The engine program perfect the way it is, its just unfortunate that someone came out way ahead of others.
In the V8 era Mercedes also […]
