@tomd11 – The problem is if no penaulties the rich teams will replace engines and components every race….. because those are outside the budgetcap…..
So what is your suggestion to reduce components and […]David BR commented on the post, Red Bull exceeded F1's $145m budget cap during 2021 season – FIA 5 months, 2 weeks ago
@tomd11 Possible if had been a major breach. But still unlikely. Removing Max’s title would generate uproar, litigation, a lot of unhappy Max/Dutch fans (and revenue) and possibly Red Bull threatening to leave […]

@tomd11 24 (or 23 based on one info I got back in December, which could’ve been incorrect, I don’t know) is the upper limit. At least one current track would have to face sacrification should Kyalami return […]
Robbie commented on the post, Should Formula 1 trial sprint races during 2021? 2 years, 1 month ago
@tomd11 Except that this isn’t about whether or not fans are complaining about the racing. This is about F1 asking themselves and fans if there might be a more exciting way to qualify.
And if you want to k […]

@tomd11 Let’s see what the format for the Saturday session actually turns out to be, but I sure do not think it will work out to be just the first third of the race that will be completed on Sunday. It is a q […]
Robbie commented on the post, Should Formula 1 trial sprint races during 2021? 2 years, 1 month ago
@tomd11 And I don’t see how it diminishes the affair. We’d still have traditional quali on Friday (I’m calling it pre-quali) and hence a more potent day, then a more exciting way to qualify on Saturday, and then […]
Alianora La Canta commented on the post, EA keen to tap into F1's "unprecedented growth in fandom" 2 years, 1 month ago
@tomd11 More racing does equal more money for Liberty – to a point. This is because there are more circuit fees, the more races at unique venues occur (double-headers are not so good for Liberty, but are better in […]

@tomd11 Liberty and Brawn have already made their presence noticed by re-organizing F1 by addressing all the major issues F1 had from the BE era. We’re about to see that truly come to fruition with the new gen […]

I think, as @tonymansell says, Hamilton has strong teammates.
There are only about 20 seats in F1. We hope these are the most talented, best 20 racers in the world. Athletes at the level are […]

Yes, you and @tomd11 are bang on – Lewis is the best not just because he drives fast, but because he drives clever. His constant analysis of the situation, his experiments with the limits of the track/car/racing […]

@tomd11 I agree with you in principle on more or less everything except the ”poorly-worded event notes” part. To me, it was crystal clear where to do practice starts at Sochi Autodrom, and it’s been the same […]

The stewards are not particularly fast at investigating penalties in general.

@tomd11 That’s a really good point. They could have called the SC, let everyone who wanted pit, then closed the pit lane. Simple enough and fairer.
Zann commented on the post, Mercedes' pit error was understandable – Alfa Romeo's was not 2 years, 6 months ago
Yes it’s all a bit of a nonsense isn’t it @tomd11. As you say as soon as they throw the SC it makes everyone come into the pits! And the communication was hopeless. I was typing the same thing just as you posted.
