2 hours later, Fernando took to Twitter to clarify that in fact it was not his birthday and that he would not be celebrating his birthday with Alpine in 2023.

I don’t think so, because people still get upset by experts in their field saying the same things. There’s nothing controversial or new about Vettel pointing out the damage we’re causing. The difference is that he […]

I’ve come to realise “woke” basically just means “I don’t want to think because this challenges my inherent beliefs”

It might be uncomfortable but F1 needs to have discussion around its environmental impact. I think it’s sad that looking after the planet has become divisive and as politicised as it is but an international sport […]

As much as this is repeated, it will never be true. Sport and politics will always be intermingled, especially in high profile international sports like F1. The head in the sand approach will only get you so far. […]

What is it about the notion of looking after our planet better that upsets people so much? I honestly will never understand. Keep up the good fight Seb and hopefully someone else will take the baton.

I disagree with the first part. Any notion of loyalty went out the window when they failed to get the F2 champion onto the F1 grid.
Tommy C commented on the post, Will Alonso win with Aston Martin? 1 week, 1 day ago
I hope so, but I doubt it. If things fell slightly differently for Fernando, he could well have been a 5 time champion. It’s hard to believe almost as much time has passed between his last win and now as had […]
Tommy C commented on the post, 'A shame', 'just about money': F1 drivers fear Spa's next grand prix will be its last 1 week, 3 days ago
The Spa/Monza back to back has long been my favourite part of the season which I anticipate most. It would be incredibly sad to lose Spa from the calendar. It’s just such a fantastic circuit and probably showcases […]

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. I think Ricciardo is a great driver. I think his problem is that Norris is an excellent one. I have a feeling we’re going to see McLaren in the same situation Red Bull […]

And gasly to Alpine for a full French outfit! I think this jigsaw is the one I like most!

Arguably yes. The McLaren MP4-20 was quicker than the Renault R25. Reliability let them down but Fisichella sure wasn’t going to win the championship in that car.
Tommy C commented on the post, Mercedes should "keep open mind" over unique car concept – Russell 2 weeks ago
Numbers only tell part of the story. Alonso’s 2 championships were in arguably an inferior car (2005) and hard-fought against Michael Schumacher in a decent Ferrari (2006). He’s never really driven an RB9 or W06 […]
Tommy C commented on the post, Alonso to join Aston Martin in 2023 on "multi-year" deal 2 weeks ago
Did anyone else come to racefans to verify a headline they saw elsewhere? I couldn’t believe it at face value but if it’s reported here, I guess it must be true! I must say I thought this would be Alonso’s last […]
Tommy C commented on the post, Ferrari weren't quick enough to win in Hungary regardless of strategy – Binotto 2 weeks, 1 day ago
Interesting. I’m pretty sure Carlos lost a solid 10 seconds in the pitstop and Charles was quickest early on with the 2 sets of mediums. I’d be interested to know what data they had to suggest the hards were a […]

At this rate Ferrari seriously risks losing 2nd place in the constructors to Mercedes. Has arguably the fastest car on the grid ever finished 3rd in the constructors championship?
Tommy C commented on the post, Caldwell banned from next F2 round after another track limits penalty 2 weeks, 1 day ago
Seems a little ridiculous. Surely race bans should be applied only for dangerous driving. Not a single “caused a collision penalty” in the list. It’s hardly a Grosjean 2012 list of offences.
Tommy C commented on the post, Rate the race: 2022 Hungarian Grand Prix 2 weeks, 1 day ago
Given how long the mediums could run, perhaps they’d have been better off running their own race rather than reacting to the soft-starters’ stops. Surely Leclerc could have gone med-med-soft. Hindsight though I […]
Tommy C commented on the post, Rate the race: 2022 Hungarian Grand Prix 2 weeks, 1 day ago
Fantastic that 3 quarters of the way through this race, any of the top 6 still had a chance of taking the win. I don’t even know what to say about Ferrari. I’d been clinging onto hope that they could turn this […]

What a fantastic qualy! So happy for George! We should be in for a good race with this grid. Great to see Norris up there too. It all fell apart for Red Bull. One of the worst circuits to have a poor qualy but […]
