I went to Jerez in 2014. First time I’d ever heard/seen an F1 car. At the time I thought the V6 sounded delightful due to the lack of ambient crowd noise to cover it. I’ve since heard a V8 at ROC, but I’m excited to hear them again, 2 years on.

I’m going to the second test for 2 days this time around, all coming in at under £200.

My partner is Irish so I’m flying Birmingham-Dublin-Barca-Birmingham

We’re staying in Barcelona City will take the train to Montmelo and a Sagales bus service to the circuit.

    I’m very excited.

Small transport tip to those without cars, there is a T10 Integrated Travel Card.
T10 standing for 10 Single trips. These can be used on all bus, train, metro services, and can be used by more than one person.

It’s 20 Euro for a ticket covering 2 zones (City is Zone 1, Circuit is Zone 2), but it will cover you for a train to and from the airport, trains to Montmelo and buses to and from the circuit. Also, you have the convenience of carrying card around instead of separate tickets.

I’ve never been to Catalunya before, my one query: where do I enter the circuit? There are a few buses that run to the circuit from Montmelo train station, but they vary wildly in terms of destination stop.

    Thanks guys

I was in Jerez for day 4. Now, this was my first time ever witnessing F1 cars live, so I cannot compare to previous times, but I am in a sense “fresh”.

You can get really close to the track during testing – which I did – and I really enjoyed the sound. It sounds monstrous on power/traction out of slow corners, pure mechanical grunt. It is loud enough, and I was completely taken in by the cars. Magnussen had an almighty lockup into turn 1 and ran through the gravel mid afternoon and you heard every second of it. It was scary, almost. The sound doesn’t travel particularly well, which seems to be a key issue, but I came away from Jerez feeling altogether invigorated. I loved every second of it.

I can still hear the cars in my mind now, 100% memorable.

I’m also wondering about the ticketing and VIP Access, I emailed the circuit and they said more information would be forthcoming in the next week, so let’s wait and see. I’ve booked my flights to attend the fourth day of testing. I’m flying into Seville and then catching a train into Jerez airport (1 hour journey, €18 return) and then a taxi to and from the circuit (€56 return). My first ever live F1 experience and I am very very excited about it!
