Re: http://fantasyracing.hiltonhhonors.com/default.aspx – I clean forgot about manually approving applications to the F1Fanatics mini-league.
Sorry for the delay, but all done now so your teams should show up in our little corner of the game.
10th March 2014, 7:19 at 7:19 am #251400PenfoldParticipantYes, but that just means you need to enter a password to join. You can find it towards the end of my first post but here it is again: letmein
See you there!
3rd March 2014, 7:30 at 7:30 am #250637PenfoldParticipantJust created a mini-league at: http://fantasyracing.hiltonhhonors.com/default.aspx
League name: F1Fanatics
Password: letmein
Enjoyed this one last year (and not just because I topped our mini-league!) so hopefully see a few of the old faces and an array of new ones for this season. The two leagues in top post still open to join.
3rd March 2014, 7:25 at 7:25 am #250636PenfoldParticipantMagon4, I’ve just created one (might only ever be us two on it though!) and will post the details on my shiny new 2014 fantasy league thread: https://www.racefans.net/groups/f1/forum/topic/f1-fantasy-leagues-2014/
23rd February 2014, 16:11 at 4:11 pm #249619PenfoldParticipantPeter, any chance of a quick summary of how your league works: no. of driver picks, scoring, etc. Good to have a rough outline for potential players to browse.
PFRL game does indeed seem a bit complicated at first sight, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. I shall take a proper look at the rules and see if it’s for me.
Lastly, details for entering the game at: http://minardif1.org/ are now available via the ‘join’ button on that page; also, the distribution of this year’s $250 prize fund has been announced.
7th February 2014, 9:55 at 9:55 am #248580PenfoldParticipantLet’s hope Ferrari can be in there as well. Speaking of which:
“Reports in Italy say (Ferrari) engine designer Luca Marmorini has devised a unique system that stops the flow of fuel when the driver is not accelerating, improving not only fuel consumption but also the effect of engine-braking.”
4th November 2013, 16:06 at 4:06 pm #228261PenfoldParticipantIndia worked out great as my double points track: all four drivers took the chequered flag, and Grosjean fighting his way from 17th to 3rd was a great help. This jumped me to fifth overall, but with Raikkonen’s early retirement in Abu Dhabi I steeled myself for some slippage down the ranks; as it turns out, Kimi is such a popular choice that I didn’t suffer relative to the top few guys, in fact I’m now at an all time high fourth place. Amazing… and of course as much through luck as judgement.
Good luck for the last couple of races.
8th October 2013, 10:06 at 10:06 am #228259PenfoldParticipantMy cunning plan of picking Webber for Korea to benefit from places gained didn’t fare too well. It was all going fine until Perez’s tyre shredded in spectacular fashion, causing Mark to pick up a puncture which then placed him in the path of Sutil’s rotating Force India. Oh well.
Time to pick your next double points bonus track – I’ve gone for India.
10th September 2013, 5:25 at 5:25 am #228258PenfoldParticipantYeah, I see you’ve zoomed up to within a whisker of the top 100 now, and moved a fair chunk ahead of Bendana in our mini-league. I’ve slipped a little from my all-time high (currently 16th), so hoping for a strong run from here to vault back into the top ten – unfortunately the first few guys are just too far ahead. Good luck for Singapore.
23rd July 2013, 9:13 at 9:13 am #221020PenfoldParticipantRicciardo bet saved me from complete failure, but still lost £5.50 and so now at £121.62.
Hungaroring:
Kimi to win race: £10 at 11/2 (returning £65)23rd July 2013, 9:06 at 9:06 am #228256PenfoldParticipantI assume you two guys are still fiddling about with this game, so just a quick reminder that it’s bonus race selection time. Deadline for choosing a new circuit is 5pm (BST) this Friday – I plumped for Hungaroring, in case you were sitting there desperate to know.
28th June 2013, 15:25 at 3:25 pm #221018PenfoldParticipantA few for Silverstone:
Rosberg to be fastest qualifier: £5 at 11/4 (returning £18.75)
Alonso to win race: £5 at 3/1 (£20)
Kimi to win race: £3 at 9/1 (£30)
Ricciardo to reach Q3: £5 at 6/4 (£12.50)14th June 2013, 7:32 at 7:32 am #228255PenfoldParticipantYeah, too bad a few more didn’t stick with it. Oh well, I guess there’s always your overall league position to aim for – you’re a tantalising 17 points away from top 250, and another 140-odd pts. would see you in the top one hundred.
12th June 2013, 9:53 at 9:53 am #221017PenfoldParticipantWithout the rain he didn’t stand a chance.
Made £8.75 profit courtesy of Vettel’s pole; total now £127.12. Thinking Alonso for Silverstone win, can get 3/1 which ain’t half bad.
12th June 2013, 9:48 at 9:48 am #228253PenfoldParticipantMade it through ‘double points’ Canada without any hiccups, i.e. driver retirements; was a tad concerned when the wet stuff was forecast to fall on Sunday. Not to mention I had Grosjean in my line-up, something that always induces a certain unease….
