Andy G commented on the post, Double points finale could be scrapped – Todt 9 years, 1 month ago
So if a rule at the start of the season was to give Red Bull a head-start of 25 points, you’d be against scrapping that mid-season?

Easily Grosjean? You could make a case for him with ifs and buts, but I don’t see how he was easily the best driver, especially when you consider Hamilton’s drive.

Sure Sutil was running well for the first 2/3rds of the race, but as soon as he put the softs on he dropped well back and should have finished behind his teammate. I suspect we’ll see something similar tomorrow.

Andy G commented on the post, Were Red Bull & Mercedes right to use team orders? 10 years, 2 months ago
Teams need to maximise their points haul from the weekend.
Red Bull ordering their drivers to hold station, not wreck their tyres racing each other and pickup the 1-2 was the safest way of doing this. I would […]

Andy G commented on the post, Hamilton on pole as Maldonado shines in Singapore 10 years, 8 months ago
There was every need to send him out – by all means Vettel should have improved his time by the same margin Hamilton did. McLaren would’ve been berated if they’d kept Hamilton in and Vettel pipped him for […]

You start on the tyres you set you best time on. McLaren will probably not even use that set for tomorrow.

Surely the American Grand Prix should be at the Circuit of the Americas?

Andy G commented on the post, Domenicali calls for tougher driving standards 10 years, 9 months ago
The dire consequences should always come into play. It’s why Maldonado only gets 5 place grid drops compared to Grosjean’s race ban, even though his crashes into Perez and Hamilton were deliberate.
While […]

5. Kimi – Great race pace but qualifying still leaves something to be desired.
4. Webber – Started consistently well, a double-victor, but has been less than impressive in Canada, Germany and Hungary.
3. Vettel […] -

Don’t the top 4 also have a fresh set of options? I thought they did their first Q3 stint on their used Q2 options.

Andy G commented on the post, Vettel back in front with Bahrain pole position 11 years, 1 month ago
Thing is in China they used all 3 option tyres in the race so it didnt matter.
But here it is suggested that only 2 will be used, putting Button at a disadvantage as he must use the most worn softs, and the […]

I think Button might be in trouble with his tyres.
Ted was saying that the strategy is likely to be opt, opt, pri, pri.
With this in mind, redbull and mclaren decided to use the spare set of options for q2 […]

Funny you mention team orders in the 2008 season. Funny how in the penultimate race in China, Kimi Raikkonen just suddenly lost drive on the back straight allowing Massa to pass him for second.
Were team […]

Really? In what way was his drive great? Even he admitted he had a shocker.

Andy G commented on the post, Hamilton: "Jenson was able to switch the tyres on extremely well" 11 years, 2 months ago
Odd, considering how Hamilton was able to switch his tyres on much better for his first stint of quali compared to Button.

Andy G commented on the post, Late effort puts Schumacher on top in second practice 11 years, 2 months ago
The main problem with Ferrari isn’t outright pace. You could see from testing they would be quick for the first couple of laps, before dropping off massively. I can see them being OK for quali, but the race might […]
