As far as I am aware there are no buses etc you need to make your own arrangements so either hire a car or book a car and driver. It is chaotic at the circuit and there are usually a lot of taxis vying for business to transfer back to Dubai but you have to be careful as they are looking to charge a lot to do so. If you are staying in a hotel in…[Read more]

Hi,
I am getting ready to fly to Dubai tomorrow evening and staying for 7 nights. I will be driving from Dubai to Yas Marina circuit on Saturday and Sunday. We have seats in South stand section S – 06 Row H. Can anyone give me any suggestions fto make this trip more fun as it is my first time at this circuit.Douglas Hi, we too are staying in Dubai and travelling to the Grand Prix on Saturday and Sunday. We would be interested in meeting up to arrange sharing transport if you wish. There will be 3 of us.
I am hoping to get some good pictures and intend to take a 55-250 lens.
We (my wife, daughter and I) are driving to the circuit on Saturday and Sunday and could have 2 seats available as two friends have had to cancel at last minute if anyone is looking for a lift
Could you possibly squeeze in 3?
Hi Trevor
Sorry we only have a 5 seater so can’t get another 3 in.

Last time I went, sitting in the West Grandstand, there was actually an area where you could take pics from without bothering other fans. So you didn’t have to get all your shots from your seat. I don’t know if this exists in the Marina Grandstand, but I’d be quite surprised if it doesn’t.
Have a good time.Kelvin Sullivan replied to the topic Going to the 2017 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix at Yas Marina in the forum

Cheers Steven,
I have no intention of going to the concert, as I have booked late I am unsure of the grandstand location as it collect ticket on the day. Thats why I was thinking of 100 – 400mm for reach and 70 – 200mm f2.8 for the dusk and low light later.
I will only take 1 body and pack it down to make it look less professional.
I have…[Read more]

Not a chance of taking a camera into the concerts. Taking two lenses suggests you could be more than just a “snapper” and possibly attempting to profit from picture sales, which is what F1 don’t want you doing without paying them first. I’d just take the 100-400. I will have my 70-210 with me in Row B in the same Grandstand.

I’m flying out on Thursday and have grandstand tickets for Saturday and Sunday (Marina grandstand). I want to take my DSLR with 100 – 400mm lens and 70 – 200mm lens, but I am wary of the restrictions in relation to what is deemed “professional” and/or “inappropriate”. I have contacted YAS circuit and they just directed me to the T&C’s which are…[Read more]
hi kevin how did you get on going in with your 100-400mm lens i would have loved to have taken my 150-600 but am worried they wont allow it have had no problems using it at silverstone plus i choose seats not to impede anyone we are back row of the marina grandstand by a big gap but any help you can give will be appreciated

Last time I visited and sat in the West Stand I took my DSLR with a 300mm lens. Didn’t have any problems at all. This weekend I am trying the South Stand, and will be taking my 70-210mm lens.

Hi,
I know this has been posted a few years back, however, I also understand rules change from time to time. I wanted to know if DSLR cameras are allowed inside Yas Marina Circuit during the F1? I know for a fact they are not allowed for the after-race concerts. I will be in the Al-Dhiyafa Suite West Grandstand and was hoping to get some good…[Read more]
