Nikos commented on the post, Verstappen dominates Spanish Grand Prix to win ahead of Mercedes pair 1 day, 16 hours ago
@velocityboy In 1999 they did not have a dominant car. Ferrari actually won the Constructors Championship. McLaren of course was very quick, but not very reliable. In the first race both cars retired for […]

Nikos commented on the post, Verstappen dominates Spanish Grand Prix to win ahead of Mercedes pair 2 days, 2 hours ago
@velocityboy In 1998 one of the main reasons Ferrari was able to catch up was that McLaren’s rear brake pedal was banned mid-season.

spoutnik commented on the post, Red Bull dominance is a turn-off for "avid" F1 fans but not new viewers – Domenicali 1 month, 3 weeks ago
@velocityboy It’s probably not as simple though. I remember Peter Prodromou who rejoined McLaren after a spell with Newey but somehow the McLaren never did a lasting impression. Engine, chassis, aero, all of it, […]

bosyber commented on the post, Whatever triggered it, Verstappen's defiance of his own team makes little sense 6 months, 3 weeks ago
As you allude to @velocityboy, we already know from the multi21 situation what kind of leader Horner is, I think.
A slight difference might be that Mateschitz isn’t there now, so perhaps dr. Marko’s influence […]

@velocityboy isn’t it funny how the FIA tried to cover it up by underplaying every one of the 13 counts?

@velocityboy Not to mention that bith Tsunoda and Gasly took penalties in Spa to help who ? You guess it, to help Max.. It was definitely a pre planned action from Red Bull and AT.

@velocityboy Nice observation.

Robbie commented on the post, Perez signs new, two-year Red Bull deal 1 year ago
@velocityboy That said, Mac is a top team and they ‘should’ be able to improve during this season and for next year. There are worse places he could be. The potential should be there.

Ciaran commented on the post, Should Formula 1 adopt IndyCar's deleted lap times rule for causing red flags in qualifying? 1 year, 1 month ago
@velocityboy How many years has it been sincd trackside cranes were used in a race that wasn’t Monaco? Certainly well before Liberty took over – and that’d be the FIA’s jurisdiction anyway surely.

@velocityboy indeed. In fact my Sky box went stupid, so for the last 5 laps I had no sound. It was pure bliss!

Robbie commented on the post, Fourth DRS zone added for F1's return to Albert Park circuit 1 year, 2 months ago
@velocityboy As I have surmised elsewhere, I think it is too early days and it will not surprise me at all to see tweaks coming to DRS, but I think F1 just wants to see the teams and drivers settle in with these […]

GT Racer commented on the post, Mercedes introduce new F1 safety car and medical car 1 year, 3 months ago
@velocityboy Which is it’s entire purpose of course. It’s out there to slow the field down for safety reasons so isn’t meant to be going too quickly.
That’s why I never get the argument you see come up every so […]

@velocityboy I hear you but I am going to suggest why they didn’t do that it is was just too early days with these cars for them to do anything but just start driving them and getting a feel for what they have […]

The point of him first saying lapped cars can’t unlap was to make sure the race did NOT need to finish behind the safety car @velocityboy
Because unlapping the cars would cost an extra lap of SC, according to […]

@velocityboy I love the Big Bang Theory and the new show Sheldon!
Well, I think Toto, his wife, and Lewis feel very different – I’m not sure this appeal is being dropped willingly.
I feel like if I […]

@velocityboy – Except, if Merc pitted HAM would not be behind VER on the same tires. HAM would have either have: 1) been ahead if RBR still pitted, or 2) been behind if RBR did not pit, but HAM on new vs VER old tires.
