Here’s a driver line up based on the Driver Database ELO ratings. Obviously, in F1 this would be impacted by car strength, but in the junior levels (mostly spec series) this is less of a distortion.
Hamilton, Vettel, Rosberg, Alonso, Raikkonen, Massa, Vandoorne, Button, Bottas, Ricciardo, Rosenqvist, de Vries, Hulkenberg, Grosjean, Rowland,…[Read more]

The BBC says it needs to save £35 million and expects “the loss of some existing rights and events”. Will F1 be among them?
£35 million will be saved from the BBC’s TV sports rights budget. Meeting this savings target will be tough, particularly given the high levels of inflation in the market. We therefore anticipate this will lead to the los…

Those who are asking for Why couldn’t Lewis Hamilton pass Nico Rosberg and a Rookie Max Vestrappen could pass other cars in #BrazilianGP ?
Well here’s the answer by me
Obviously it’s easier to follow a slower car and then overtake the car ahead as after closing in turbulent air will affect but it will be small as you will follow for less laps…[Read more]Kerry started the topic The best place to buy F1 Merchandise? in the forum

Hi,
My husband is an F1 fan whereas I do not know much about the sport (apologies). Long story short but due to a change in our circumstances this year (new baby) my husband wasn’t able to attend the Grand Prix where he usually purchases his team t-shirt from the official store at Silverstone.
I know the season is due to finish shortly but I was…[Read more]

Nico Rosberg may or may not become World Champion in the future, but let’s just say for a second that he doesn’t. Should he go down as the best, or at least one of the best drivers never to win the title? I thought it would be interesting to hear everyone else’s opinions. In his favour are some of his achievements:
– He has the most pole…[Read more]

So I’m studying for a physics exam and I was thinking about cornering in a race car and how camber affects it, from a physics point of view.
Firstly, the big issue with overtaking in F1 is – and has been for a while – is the difficulty of following another car due to the affect of the turbulent air coming off a car on the aerodynamics of the car…[Read more]

Hi,
Had a look but to no avail. Is there an archive of all the last 7 or 8 years rate the race statistics? I.e. just the numbers for the last 7 or 8 seasons? If someone could point me in the right direction it’d be much appreciated!
Thanks,

This morning I noticed a new SkyF1 race strategy game article;I was waiting and thought it would be fun.
Idea is nice, description of situation, what do you do.
Sadlys, all the cases are from very recent races, unchanged, so most fans will know how it played out, making the choice obvious.
Guess I am spoiled with the depth of F1fanatic…[Read more]

Hey all,
Here are a few pictures of my experience at the Mexican GP. I went there with my dad who has assisted at least one GP in each of the periods in which F1 was in town. He was saying how he used to camp all weekend with his high-school buddies and just barbecue and watch the races all weekend! I guess times have changed :) anyway, here are…[Read more]

During the Mexican GP coverage there was a discussion (I think between Martin Brundle and someone else) about Rosberg being able to ‘hang Hamilton out to dry’ if he decided to hang on for a few laps before he took his pit stop, as Hamilton would always have to pit second. There have been times this year, and last, that Hamilton was told if he did…[Read more]
