While I agree his Monace performance was quite embarrasing, I must say that before he crashed in the race he was driving superbly. He made lots of overtakes on a track that generally doesn’t allow any. No wonder he crashed.

While I agree that the ranking made up by team bosses says a lot (although they are hardly independent opinion makers), if you want to be technical the only ranking that matters is the DWC standings after the last race.

I think a car as dominant as the Mercedes makes it easy to think of their lead driver as an unbeatable racing God.
