Yup. If one can accept, even for a moment, that Nico’s brakes were lost, then other possible outcome could there have been?

Rubbish- he wasn’t along side. He had his nose peeking up a bit. He had to back out of it. Nico telegraphed his move clearly- LH called him on it and he pressed on anyway. The stewards made the right call.

I’m a wee bit confused over the amount of noise re: engine settings. Nico -did- pass Lewis, right? It’s not like LH hasn’t stuck his nose up in a dare before. He wasnt along side- he could have backed out. I think […]
Tom Davidson commented on the post, Hard-fighting Hamilton pounces on Rosberg error to seal third title 6 years, 6 months ago
Let’s face it folks. The difference between Hamilton and Rosberg was made very clear at turn 1 on the opening lap. As LH contemplated the start, he had 3 likely scenarios: he would get to turn 1 in the lead. He […]

Well, I’m not weighing in on the Twitter posting, but you -might- want to check out some of his work. A body of beautiful work on F1 over a very long time. You should be -that good- at what you do…
I do not pretend to like Hamilton- but he is a better driver. Another plane? As in Senna? Nope. Not in his dreams.
You entirely missed my point- had Nico been made aware of the potential vulnerability of LH, he […]
written from a viewpoint of ‘F1 = the driver’. But it doesn’t. There are teams. There are strategies. There is money. There are rules. It’s all played out in realtime. Think fast in the car, on the pit wall, in […]
Oh good Lord, a war of statistical analysis- waged by team people who have -very- strong agendas to maximize their own teams financial gain. None of the models I’ve seen described begin to describe the effects of […]
you make some fair points. But there were two infractions that I recall… the 50meter advisement and a while later, the 100meter one. Given that Nico was advised prior to this that he was good on fuel and not so […]

And Vettel w/o Newey car won’t be terribly helpful either. Just wait ’til he find out what the Ferrari buzzsaw is really like.
+1 What an anticlimax. No fight up front. The only reason Massa made it up to #2 is Nico’s problems. He -never- would have passed for the lead- Lewis would just have turned the wick up. No real action behind […]
Tom Davidson commented on the post, Rosberg hits Hamilton and hands another win to Ricciardo 7 years, 9 months ago
These were NOT valuable points. Merc is so far away from everyone else that the 18pts lost are practically meaningless.
+1. I believe that retiring w/o a good reason incurs a penalty for changing the gearbox. That would have penalized Hamilton. I think the team just played out the strategy, knowing the supply of power unit and […]
Mercedes huffs and puffs “we lost valuable points”. Hrrmmmph. Does anyone really think Mercedes will NOT win the constructors championship this year? Lauda, even though he appears to favor Lewis, is vehement that […]
