Basically this is the Blancpain Sprint Series GT race weekend model.
Personally I haven’t been a big fan of it.

ken commented on the post, Ecclestone threatens to charge Manor for not racing 8 years, 2 months ago
This, is exactly what I’ve been hoping for too. Sauber, Lotus, Force India all drops out, F1 collapses, free the way for someone else to start a new championship from scratch. As difficult as that may be, it still […]

The decision is done and dusted. Now I hope the team at the track are mature about it and give GvdG maximum free practice milage leading up to the race.

For such a technically advanced sport it can be so stupid sometimes.
Next, I imagine when someone changes their design mid season, they can pull that ridiculous engine tokens logic. “Oh? No, THIS new one is my […]

Even Racecar Engineering struggles to make sense of the full story of this car.

Daniel Simon did do an LMP1 racer.
The “Lotus” racer with a more twisted backstory than Lotus in F1.
Team started as Kodewa with an old […]

It’s a good direction to go in, but I do worry about them flip flopping on rules. I think what’s more important now is rule stability.
I think the cars look fine now, except for the convoluted regs trying to […]

That HRT was graphically designed by Daniel Simon, who does some really interesting work, mostly for sci-fi film props, but also some cars and bikes.

ken commented on the post, Marussia comeback bid dashed by Strategy Group 8 years, 4 months ago
At this stage, I hope F1 dies a quick death. The sooner it does the sooner we can rebuild.
PURE FANTASY: F1 collapses, and someone like the World Series by Renault builds a new class above their F3.5. This […]

Has the Strategy Group ever acheived anything other than shoot f1 in the foot?

ken commented on the post, Is the FIA superlicence points system a step forward? 8 years, 4 months ago
Exactly. If it’s to be fixed it needs to be done now. Drivers are still sorting out their 2015 plans. People’s careers could hinge on this made up obstacle.

ken commented on the post, Should Honda be barred from updating their engine? 8 years, 4 months ago
Hear Hear! FIA should have made a stronger stand against Ferrari and Renault. The more I learn about the FIA/F1, the more it disgusts me.

Hear Hear! Safety Cars for Safety and controlling pace, not for manipulating the race!
In fact, it doesn’t even look safe now. We’ve all seen some closed calls, lapped drivers unlapping themselves while lead […]

ken commented on the post, Who will be eligible to race in Formula One next year? 8 years, 5 months ago
Hear hear. This feels like another deeply flawed knee jerk reaction regulation like double points, a rule they will need to seriously revise by the end of the year.

ken commented on the post, FIA confirms new 2016 F1 superlicence points system 8 years, 5 months ago
Oh! And another thing. It’s useless over-regulations like this that meant a driving god like Sebastian Loeb could be stopped from driving a Toro Rosso several years back. How will we ever get another John Surtees […]

Euro F3 worth more than Renault 3.5? I’d rank JPN Super Formula AND GP3 above Euro F3 and LMP1 as well.
Ug! This is all so dumb. Convoluted regulations to solve a non-issue.
If there’s a young prodigy out […]

Bah, humbug. I miss the previous numbering system, reflecting the team’s achievements.

ken commented on the post, How to design a better points system for Formula One 8 years, 6 months ago
To me, the points system was perfected in 1991.
No more confusing dropped points. Simplicity!
10 for a win. How clean and logical!
Only top 6 scored. Ok, Keith writes of the problem that causes, I think […]
