Witan commented on the post, Verstappen attacks "disgusting" reaction to Brazil team orders row 1 week, 2 days ago
Firstly Verstappen constantly pouting at the camera and blaming everyone but himself for his troubles is not an image of a tough competent competitor more a petulant bully.
He must understand […]
Witan commented on the post, Hulkenberg seals F1 return by joining Haas for 2023 1 week, 2 days ago
Haas has sensibly decided they don’t want a star driver but a steady and competent one who has a chance to garner modest points while helping the car development and not stressing the budget by avoidable […]
Something has to be done as the current position is a nonsense and inconsequential. Although sprint races might entice some additional viewers initially they will probably follow longer serving fans and become […]
The dead cat strategy attempting to get negatives riffs off the media narrative about overspending, economical with the verité RedBull. Well executed but the reaction is only cementing RedBull dodgy reputation in place.
RedBull are saying that if the media don’t say nice things about them they will not talk to the media.
Childish and shortsighted.
First, apparently trying muzzle the free press is not a good accompaniment to […]
Witan commented on the post, Russell suspects cautious approach at start cost him second at finish 3 weeks, 5 days ago
With enough laps gone to understand his tyres Russell told the team what the best strategy was and they ignored him. Russell’s recipe was used by Ricciardo and he flew. So Russell is right, the team cost him at l […]
Witan commented on the post, Did the FIA get Red Bull's penalty for 2021 budget cap breach right? 4 weeks ago
Despite what the agreement says this overspend is not at all a surprise from the RedBull management who often give the impression that they think the sport, and reality, is adjustable to their needs and […]
This punishment looks ridiculously light compared to previous cases such as the McLaren spy gate saga where information was received but not used but still garnered a 100 million fine and a complete removal of all […]
Witan commented on the post, Why Mercedes say it's "not worth having" a legality row over new front wing 1 month ago
This is another example of FIA poor rules writing. As the article says they don’t mean “primary” but “only”. At the moment that rule leaves open the option of a “secondary” use which could be aerodynamic.
Witan commented on the post, Alpine launch protest to overturn US GP penalty which cost Alonso points finish 1 month ago
One report says HAAS relayed their concerns to race control during the race but no action was taken, which, I assume, is why the statement from the stewards mentions a concern at the delay in taking action.
Vestappen’s engineer should have told him who else was on track behind him. If he didn’t that should be a team penalty on the grounds of safety.
If Verstappen knew Norris was behind him it was carelessly […]
The coverup begins.

The Piastri saga will be remembered for a long time as a demonstration of managerial incompetence and conceit. A case study in how to lose valuable human assets to competitors.

Witan commented on the post, McLaren "absolutely convinced" Ricciardo can get back to his best 2 months ago
Hypocritical doublespeak. As others have pointed out, if Ricciardo will come good why spend millions to get rid of him?
It is almost as if the sister RedBull team was working hard to create conspiracy theories as within a few days they create situations which benefit the senior RedBull team. First they manage to have both cars […]
Witan commented on the post, Audi confirms 2026 F1 entry as engine manufacturer 3 months ago
This increases the investment by car manufacturers in F1 but doesn’t really broaden the base, in fact it narrows the power train base and makes all of the grid (when things have settled down with Audi and Porsche) […]
Aston Martin, the retirement home for old racers?
Suddenly Hamilton appears to have clicked with the car, and Russell is hardly getting a look in any more.
Poles and leading in th4e championship intra team completion is Russell “hardly getting a look in”? Absurd.
Witan commented on the post, How did Alpine let its star driver slip through its fingers? 3 months, 3 weeks ago
Alonso has a terrible record in choosing the timing and direction of his moves between teams. But in this case he had little choice I’d guess as Piastri is waiting and the future takes precedence over the past. […]
And that is the guidance Russell is talking about, and with that in mind he was entitled to space from Perez at that corner.
There is little point in giving such guidance if it is going to be ignored by the stewards.
