Robert Kubica’s leading the championship now but could he still be on top come the end of the season? Although he scored his maiden victory for the ever-improving BMW team yesterday it’s still hard to see Kubica as a likely champion. Which would make it all the more remarkable if it did happen.

Lewis Hamilton slammed into the back of Kimi Raikkonen in the pits which let Robert Kubica in to score the first win for himself and BMW.
Robert Kubica has become the first Polish driver to win a Formula 1 Grand Prix after taking victory in today’s Canadian Grand Prix. Kubica was followed home by team mate Nick Heidfeld giving BMW both their first victory and first one-two as a full Formula 1 constructor.
The Canadian Grand Prix took an astonishing twist as Lewis Hamilton eliminated himself and championship rival Kimi Raikkonen in a pit lane crash.
