Scott Dixon won his second consecutive race of 2007 – and once again it was championship leader Dario Franchitti who followed him across the line. The rain-delayed race suffered a brief interruption due to further rain but it was a largely incident-free event.
Sebastian Hohenthal took a close win in the second race at Brands Hatch, chased home by Atte Mustonen and Marko Asmer. The podium finishers were covered by one second at the line. Marko Asmer’s domination of the 2007 British F3 championship continued with his seventh win in 11 races. He beat Raikkonen-Robertson team mates Stephen Jelley and Jonathan Kennard by over eight seconds – last year’s champions still looking for their first win this year. Asmer now leads Maro Engel by 70 points in the championship.
Franck Mailleux took his first win the the F3 Euroseries in the second race at Mugello, with race one winner Romain Grosjean battling through to second. The Indianapolis Motor Speedway has announced it will not be holding an F1 Grand Prix in 2008. The circuit owners had stipulated a deadline of July 9th for confirming a deal to hold the race.
