The first practice session saw Carlos Sainz Jnr on top ahead of Marlon Stockinger and Zoel Amberg:

11th April 2014, 15:27 at 3:27 pm #256698Iestyn DaviesParticipantGood pace from Sainz, a second clear of his team mate Nato.. I wonder if this is a sign of things to come. Some interesting results like Amberg but most of the pack behind look roughly in an order of pace..
11th April 2014, 16:42 at 4:42 pm #256703NickParticipantNice to see Gasly in the Top 10, but this session has done little to easy my mind of Beitske Visser being out of depth..
11th April 2014, 17:57 at 5:57 pm #256712SPParticipantRumour has it Visser’s sponsors pushed her into this move, rather than competing in the 2-litre category where she was up front in testing.
11th April 2014, 18:22 at 6:22 pm #256713R.J. O’ConnellParticipantGood time for Stockinger too.
12th April 2014, 10:00 at 10:00 am #256711SPParticipantWhat I heard on the grapevine was that Visser’s sponsors pushed her into 3.5 rather than the 2-litre category (which she had topped testing in earlier this year).
12th April 2014, 10:01 at 10:01 am #256714BullfrogParticipantGood thing there’s a “Car” column in the results…
12th April 2014, 10:04 at 10:04 am #256748Keith CollantineKeymaster@bradley Absolutely :-)
12th April 2014, 16:13 at 4:13 pm #256767wsrgoParticipantWelcome back, Roberto Merhi. You belong in single seaters.
12th April 2014, 18:41 at 6:41 pm #256772NickParticipantSorensen gets a grid penalty for his move, leading to his flip:
First decision of the day. @Marco_sorensen will get a 5-place penalty on the next race's grid. #WSR

Stockinger overtook under SC and gets a time penalty.
Second decision. @imstockinger gets a 25-sec penalty for overtaking under the safety-car procedure. He goes from P7 to P14. #WSR

12th April 2014, 22:12 at 10:12 pm #256777Keith CollantineKeymaster@wsrgo Hear, hear – one of the stand-out performances of the race, I thought.
12th April 2014, 22:47 at 10:47 pm #256779SPParticipantUnfortunately I don’t see Merhi getting an F1 role any time soon.
12th April 2014, 23:00 at 11:00 pm #256780Giggsy11Participant@keithcollantine some really nice insightful commentary today keith, keep it up
13th April 2014, 0:36 at 12:36 am #256784Iestyn DaviesParticipant@jb001 Makes sense. It would be better for her to front run in FR2.0 before stepping up, but that requires someone to commit to spending a few more hundred thousand pounds for another year of racing.
Impressed by the top 3.. Sainz just can’t catch a break. Missed the highlights (just).. BT need to step up and make it available on demand. TV channels can’t mainly run in an app in the age of on demand content..
Merhi needs to impress after his DTM outings.. that said I think Wickens or Vietoris could win the DTM yet Mercedes would still back Juncadella to drive the Force India FP1s.
