Michael Schumacher has been stripped of his sixth-placed finish by the Monaco Grand Prix stewards, who handed him a 20-second penalty for overtaking Fernando Alonso at the final corner of the race. Robert Kubica continued to show impressive pace around the streets of Monte-Carlo, setting the fastest time in the last practice session before qualifying. But Fernando Alonso’s run of fastest times in practice came to an end when he crashed at Massenet on his sixth lap.

The drivers ran on the super-soft tyres for the first time this weekend in the second practice session – and discovered they may struggle with them in Sunday’s race. Take a look at the second practice times in detail with the interactive chart below.

Fernando Alonso topped the times in the second practice session at Monaco – just as he did in the first. A few spots of rain towards the end of second practice and the usual traffic problems made life especially tricky for the drivers.
