McLaren successfully gave the flying Red Bulls some rare opposition in qualifying. Can they go one step forward and keep them from victory in the race? The start will be crucial – and history shows having both their drivers on the left-hand side of the grid could be a disadvantage for McLaren.
Six races into 2010 we’ve got a reasonably clear picture of which drivers are doing the best job of the all-important qualifying sessions. So far two drivers in particular stand out for bring significantly faster than their team mates over a single lap: Robert Kubica and Adrian Sutil.
The Monaco Grand Prix was shaped by two important developments: the speed with which Fernando Alonso passed the slower cars, and McLaren reacting to it by pitting Lewis Hamilton.

Virgin Racing has confirmed its long-expected take over of the Manor Grand Prix team for 2010. And it has announced the team’s second driver will be Brazilian rookie Lucas di Grassi. Di Grassi completes Virgin’s 2010 F1 driver line-up, joining Toyota refugee Timo Glock.
