It’s still developing. Quite a few technologies weren’t very good at first and took a long time to become useful.

he is a hard but fair driver
There’s not one F1 racer who would agree with that. Max’s fans (and please don’t mention Coulthard who practically lives in Max’s apartment) may…

@f1g33k Including, I guess, those recent incidents that didn’t become racing incidents because Hamilton took evasive action. This distinction by Max between aggressive racing and hard racing is somewhat surreal. […]

@f1g33k DRS didn’t exist yet in 2010 nor had Pirelli returned. Overtaking immediately doubled after refuelling got banned without any other meaningful changes.

@f1g33k Piastri too, his rise has been rapid, and I dont imagine he will be overlooked at the rate he is going.
@f1g33k if the outside driver can brake later and get a better drive out of the corner, one has to wonder why would anyone even use the normal racing line.

That seems to be the gist of it indeed @f1g33k, so focused on what the data tells them is optimal, but forgetting that the data doesn’t take interaction with other on track into account.

@f1g33k I fully expect this to lead to Porsche leaving Formula E. German manufacturers need the smallest excuse to throw the toys out of the pram and lose their interest in motorsport.
Yes this is hyperbole, […]
@f1g33k The refuelling equipment was standardised throughout the 2000s yet e still saw many accidents. Sure the teams may have made some dodgy changes to it but whose to say they wouldn’t do it again?

Thanks for the COTD. As well as the race, I really enjoyed Alesici’s and SaMa’s @f1g33k analysis on yesterday’s article here. FE is on the right track thinking about energy consumption for sure, they just need to […]
@f1g33k, good digging work. Bu if they had 28 kWh at the start of the 20:36 SC and 25 kWh at the end, with 3kWh deducted. that would mean they used 0 kWh during the safety car. I don’t remember how long that SC […]

@f1g33k Till 12th, but I agree with you on what you’ve pointed out. To be fair to Perez, he ran out of laps to catch Norris because of how much further ahead he was than Leclerc, so even if he weren’t struggling […]
@f1g33k On the flip side, it is quite possible that one of the front runners may shunt during the sprint race or get something else wrong and start at the back during the main race.I still see that as a negative […]

@f1g33k Perez is simply not as good as he is hyped to be by fans. He had the third fastest car all season and he’s only now getting some good results. After the team needed Hulkenberg to help improve the […]

@f1g33k I agree totally. At the very least, they should cut all coaching in qualifying and the race, they’ve had three practice sessions to learn where their strong and weak corners are!! Even worse are the […]

@f1g33k I don’t understand why some people seem to get so worked up about this. Surely this incident is a perfect example of how telling a driver how to do something doesn’t necessarily mean they can do it?
