This dispute, I think, leads to a fundamental question of what F1 is: a driver sport or a team sport? I think it’s always been the latter. The driver is only one part of the chain, an important one but not the […]

Am I missing something, or has Lotus yet to confirm their engine supplier for next year? Surely they would need to know by now who’s engine/power unit they are going to fit in the E22. I would assume they will […]

A G650 has a list price of $65 million and that is without an interior. So $72 million is not an unusual price.

F1 should be thinking of cost cutting the other way around. We should let the teams decide where is their money spent. Let’s put together a proper RRA that has real enforcement and verification mechanisms. I don’t […]

This is an easy one: Vettel.
He was simply fantastic, and is able to get so much more from the car than Webber.

I suspect that because of the significant increase in the amount of team radio that we hear, this idea that strategic use of tires is due to the Pirelli’s is blown completely out of proportion.
Also I am not […]

There is no evidence to support that. Since the half waypoint Raikkonen has scored 33 points and Romain 16.
Lord Stig commented on the post, No bitterness over Raikkonen departure – Boullier 9 years, 4 months ago
I suspect that Kimi’s departure may have a negative effect on their finances. They really need to sign a new title sponsor, and losing Raikkonen does not help that effort. I do hope that they sort things out, […]

I don’t see banning them from the young driver test being a good solution. Mercedes used there race drivers who are familiar with the car. The amount of feedback you can get from a rookie is going to be far less […]

Vettel. Just a mega race from him. He ran off into the distance, there was no competition.

The teams should agree on a reasonable cap on engine development costs and then strictly enforce it. Require all engine suppliers to have audits conducted by one of the big four auditors (KPMG, […]

I would concur with Nicholas. It’s not Kimi’s job to accommodate the engineer during the race. The engineer is there to support the driver, that support should be defined by the driver.
