I’m hopeful that the McLaren livery may only be an iterim livery after seeing Button and to a lesser extent Magnussen’s helmet.
Even Alonso’s helmet has got a large white section on it this year as well, so I think we could see a return to the white & red/orange car. Maybe not in testing, but hopefully it will be in Melbourne.3rd February 2015, 10:07 at 10:07 am #291572AnonymousInactive
After Vettel’s disappointing [too] simple design, here’s Raikkonen‘s: lots of black, no more yellow. The Iceman is back!13th February 2015, 5:04 at 5:04 am #292121NeusalzParticipant
It’s been around for a while but it has slipped past me until now. I just stumbled upon Kubica’s 2014 helmet from Bell; any ideas if he has actually used it or not?23rd February 2015, 20:41 at 8:41 pm #29272023rd February 2015, 21:46 at 9:46 pm #292722StrontiumParticipant
Are either of those actually going to get much use though?23rd February 2015, 22:07 at 10:07 pm #292724NeusalzParticipant
Vergne will probably use that helmet in Formula E just like Buemi and his Redbull helmet.23rd February 2015, 23:05 at 11:05 pm #292725StrontiumParticipant
Is Vergne allowed to continue with Formula E though, now he has a contract with Ferrari, and the season is beginning?24th February 2015, 21:00 at 9:00 pm #292770AnonymousInactive
Marc Gené’s helmet has also surfaced: as I anticipated, all Ferrari drivers have transitioned from Schuberth to Bell helmets, with the exception of Vettel who is using an Arai.24th February 2015, 21:07 at 9:07 pm #292772AnonymousInactive
Plus, a decent shot of Kimi’s lid.
Back to helmet brands, Nasr and Palmer have used a Stilo helmet in testing, which was last used by Valsecchi at Lotus (both Lotuses).25th February 2015, 17:17 at 5:17 pm #292887hunocsiParticipant
@Strontium Sure, Gene’s also racing with Nissan, and Vergne’s main work is on the simulator, not travelling around the world with the team like Gutierrez as a third driver.28th February 2015, 19:47 at 7:47 pm #293263GeorgeParticipant
K-Mag’s helmet ( http://www.f1fanatic.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/Kevin-Magnussen-McLaren-2015-F1-testing-Barcelona.jpg ) looked different to the one in this post http://www.f1fanatic.co.uk/groups/f1/forum/topic/the-helmet-thread/page/18/#post-291084
Anyone find a decent picture of it? The colour scheme looks really nice, clean design too.1st March 2015, 17:19 at 5:19 pm #293313AnonymousInactive
After testing with a plain carbon fiber helmet in the past weeks, Perez has debuted his design on a Schuberth SF1: he previously wore an Arai.
PS: @george from that shot it appears he has changed to a darker shade of red, nothing else jumps to the eye.22nd March 2015, 14:43 at 2:43 pm #294886pHParticipant
I have long wished for a web database of all drivers’ helmets (for all years) where one could view them by drivers to see changes or by seasons. Since no-one seems to find the time (including me), I did the second best and made a simple list of “notable” helmets. You can find it here:
You are welcome to download it to your computer, who knows how long I will be able to keep it on the machine.
If you feel that some helmet should really be there, just send me a jpeg with height 100 and white background :-).24th March 2015, 19:25 at 7:25 pm #295057AnonymousInactive
@ph you can add Kimi helmets or at least one Seb’s helmet there!
