Formula 1’s second sprint race round of the year takes place at the Red Bull Ring this weekend, alongside support series Formula 2 and Formula 3.

  1. I don’t really understand the excessively long interval between Saturday sessions on Sprint weekends after Saturday practice got replaced by Shootout qualifying & even before.
    The standard 2h30min should be equally okay for Sprint format Saturdays.

      Isn’t there all the grid procedure time to add to that 2:30 hours?

      1. @andyfromsandy Yes & admittedly, I hadn’t thought about that, even if the grid procedure is shorter than for the actual races.
        Valid nevertheless & before the single session change for this season, the Friday sessions also had an interval longer than 2h30min, so at least this interval is in line with all other race weekends.
