Half the regular drivers set out the first hour practice, giving an opportunity for junior and test drivers to complete some valuable running.
That session passed without incident, but the second hour was red-flagged twice due to crashes. Carlos Sainz Jnr and Nico Hulkenberg found the barriers during the evening running.
