This is a sprint weekend, which means that in addition to the 56-lap grand prix a shorter sprint race will also take place.

The Chinese Grand Prix will be held at Shanghai International Circuit. This is a 5.5-kilometre, 16-turn permanent track which has been used by Formula 1 since 2004.
