@alec-glen Actually, the existing process doesn’t require a review or a referral — the stewards have been empowered to act independently and investigate incidents on their own for several years now. And I think t […]
GT Racer commented on the post, PMI's Mission Winnow logos disappear from new Ferrari 7 months, 1 week ago
In relation to the COTD by @alec-glen.
Many criticise Masi for the inconsistency of some decisions which he in fact had no say in as incident investigations & decisions on penalties are made by the stewards […]
@alec-glen Thing is though, you can’t just stop the race to review every incident like you can in football or the NFL, so the FIA’s VAR room isn’t going to have any less time pressure — at least, if its advice i […]
Indeed, and the gala itself only made news when Kimi was being Kimi (ie. drunk) @alec-glen, didn’t it.
@alec-glen Bit unfair on Masi, who surely did what he was expected to – ensure that the championship ended with a last-lap shootout and not a foregone conclusion under yellow flags or with loads of lapped cars in […]
F1oSaurus commented on the post, Hamilton-Verstappen crash was 'a racing incident, no danger' – Alonso 1 year ago
@alec-glen I actually expected Hamilton left the door open in Monaco on purpose to get Verstappen to try an attack so Hamilton could straightline the chicane and pull a bit of a gap.
But yeah agreed the way […]

As a bit of a counter point to the post I just made this one is well said @alec-glen
Red Pill commented on the post, Formula E champions Mercedes to leave after next season 1 year, 1 month ago
The factor about what will happen to the drivers and the influx will be an interesting one, when you think about so many of the big dollar teams leaving Formula E, there’ll be six top seats less […]
Exactly, I can’t think of a more corrupt sport than boxing and I have been following closely many sports since a very young age (Football, F1, MotoGP, Tennis, Basketball, American Football, Boxing…). […]
@alec-glen Mercedes generally do a good job with the strategy I think, although it’s easy to be brilliant when the car is good. In Monaco the car was slow and apparently eating the tires, which limited their […]
Well put @alec-glen, while Red Bull in previous years had a car that usually wasn’t quite there (at the start of the seasons), given an opportunity they always could be counted on to take it, while Ferrari might […]
Ben Rowe commented on the post, Formula 1 upgrades official streaming service F1 TV Pro 1 year, 6 months ago
Well, I shouldn’t have said freeview was “just as” advanced, but I was aware it was 1080I and that is close enough that is is still pretty shocking that paytv now isn’t better than it is.
Robbie commented on the post, Verstappen hopes Perez's arrival makes life more difficult for Mercedes 1 year, 7 months ago
@alec-glen I’m sure you’re right but that’s F1 for you though, and at the same time AA is their reserve driver and simulator man, so lol he might even have, or have had during the off-season a hand in progressing […]
bosyber commented on the post, Severity of Grosjean's crash due to several factors – Tilke 1 year, 9 months ago
@alec-glen here it was actually angled a bit towards the track to give space for the access route behind it – of course, theoretically it could be made the way you say, with the barrier later on the straight […]
Ben Rowe commented on the post, Two-day weekend format isn't suitable for every grand prix – Wolff 1 year, 10 months ago
I have to say i partly disagree. When I flick through the highlights, Channel 4 with this pair often highlight a whole load of things that Sky didn’t notice. The opposite also does happen though, but […]
GeeMac commented on the post, Latifi: Imola an improvement after "worst race of the year" in Portugal 1 year, 11 months ago
@alec-glen I don’t agree with the first paragraph of your comment (respectfully). It had been 12 years since we lost Ricardo Paletti (the then last driver to die in an F1 race) and 8 years since we lost Elio de […]

In addition to what @alec-glen writes, note that the article has this bit I actually suggested this in a drivers’ briefing earlier in the season
(emphasis mine) ie. it’s not something he cooked up after one bad r […]
Jere commented on the post, Replacing Albon with Gasly "wouldn't make sense" for Red Bull 2 years ago
@alec-glen I doubt they’d go for an outsider to the Red Bull family, especially if Tsunoda becomes eligible to race in F1 next season by reaching the minimum amount of super license-points needed.
Jere commented on the post, Why "insanely fast" Mugello could be F1's next-best thing to Suzuka 2 years ago
@alec-glen I saw some start footage from a lower category at one point, and nothing special in it, so I doubt there’s going to be anything unusual in F1 either.
