Can include non-starters as technically they entered but never raced and tests that never went anywhere.
I remember a few from the 2003 Champ Car Season:
The stillborn BC Motorsports team that intended to run Giorgio Pantano.
F3000 teams Arden and the short-lived Brand Motorsport were linked to entries, the latter would have brought back…[Read more]

Rate the race for Indycar and other sports.
Seeing as this websites has changed names, could we also have rate the race threads and similar that you do for F1. I would love to see other motorsports get more attentions here too. @keithcollantinegraham228221 started the topic Watching Indycar on TV in 2019 in the forum

Slightly concerned here in the UK that we’re two weeks away from the first race and Indycar still hasn’t appeared on any TV schedules and there’s been no confirmation BT Sport that they will be showing it in 2019.
Has anyone heard anything at all about this?
I can, and will, drop BT Sport and save myself £35 a month if they aren’t showing it,…[Read more]

“Huge”. ok. Currently there is a 14 second gap between F1’s 2018 pole position and Indycar’s fastest test time. That’s about 15% slower. Your estimating that it will probably end up being 10-11 seconds, and perhaps that’s probably fair. So that’s a ~12% slower time.
For comparison, at the 2018 British GP the Formula 2 pole time (01:40.0) was…[Read more]

I went to the Indycar race in Long Beach this year. I took two weeks off work to travel over, but saw some other things and places in the US on my trip. But the primary reason for travel was to attend this iconic race and see my favourite Indycars in action! This was my third trip to the US to see Indycars; previously I had been to the inaugural…[Read more]

I was in Long Beach for the whole of last weekend and am back in the UK now. I took a lot of photos (which I’m sorting through now) and am keen on sharing my experiences, and the contrast to F1 races, with the forum.

Really looking forward to this one. From what I’ve seen of practice the cars do indeed look great round Long Beach. Should be a cracker!

Absolutely no problem with Indycar being a spec series (although it’s technically not, with two different engine manufacturers).
I really really annoys me when people dismiss spec series because there is no engineering involved. They couldn’t be more wrong.
Here’s how I see it:
F1 is mainly a technology and design contest. Human factors, like…[Read more]

I have no problems with Indycar being a spec series. Technical development is not why I love Indycar. All that I want is open and exciting races. In my experience open technical regulations don’t contribute to this in any way and are more likely to have a detrimental effect on competitive racing as one team is always likely to steal a march on t…[Read more]

Milwaukee was one of my favourite races when it was on the calendar, I’d love to see it back. And such a historic race venue should be preserved… unfortunately we (as motorsport fans) are a minority and our voices are rarely heard.

The Milwaukee Mile used to be IndyCar’s traditional post-Indianapolis 500 destination, and is one of the oldest purpose-built racing tracks in the world. But it hasn’t held a major race since IndyCar last visited in 2015. The series now draws much bigger crowds a short distance away at Elkhart Lake, and the future of the Milwaukee Mile is in…[Read more]
