Red Pill commented on the post, Honda reveal details of Verstappen's Spa power unit upgrade 1 year, 6 months ago
@bookgrub Nice write up.
With the incredible amounts of energy being produced in a single lap and then it needing transferred in a hurry (to put it mildly) into the battery cell to be stored and then available […]
Alianora La Canta commented on the post, FIA introduces new tyre pressure checks and forbids blanket practice Hamilton spotted 1 year, 9 months ago
@bookgrub I’m optimistic in that these rules are an attempt to find out what exactly is the cause, so it can be fixed in future seasons (effectively by making the races an improvised lab environment). Whether by […]
petebaldwin commented on the post, FIA introduces new tyre pressure checks and forbids blanket practice Hamilton spotted 1 year, 9 months ago
@bookgrub – Spot on. I’d rather have part-worn, mis-matched tyres from companies I’ve never heard of on my car than Pirellis. I can’t understand why they are putting so much time and effort into something that is […]
Robbie commented on the post, FIA introduces new tyre pressure checks and forbids blanket practice Hamilton spotted 1 year, 9 months ago
@bookgrub Well said. These tires are way way too finicky. Never has there been more of a reason for them to make tread wear tires for next year, or Pirelli risks throwing out the window all the hard work the teams […]
Jere commented on the post, McLaren's reduced gap to Mercedes "encouraging" for Seidl 1 year, 11 months ago
@bookgrub How is Bahrain less ‘representative’ than most? The track is permanent after all, unlike for example Albert Park, so definitely more representative than that.
Balue commented on the post, Ricciardo: Braking is main difference between McLaren, Renault and Red Bull cars 2 years ago
@bookgrub I think it was rather Ricciardo not able to cope as well with the loose rear end, which surely is a huge part of stability under braking. I believe he himself said that he was chasing setup fixes while […]

@bookgrub Agree with Broccoliface. Either way, he took other people in his bubble with that too. There is a reason why he tried to hide those photo’s. It’s a sign of someone ignoring the rules. Finding a scapegoat […]
Hiland commented on the post, Drivers want more gravel traps but they're "not the solution everywhere", says Masi 2 years, 6 months ago
@bookgrub a lot would depend on speed, ride height, and mass of the car. Heavier car would be more impacted by the gravel.

@bookgrub sorry for the tagging failure!
Rhys Lloyd commented on the post, Ricciardo believes Renault's Spa set-up breakthrough will work on other tracks 2 years, 6 months ago
@bookgrub yeah that doesn’t make any sense. The “settings” would be completely incompatible as it’s a completely different engine. I would be very, very surprised if it were indeed the case.
F1oSaurus commented on the post, Racing Point to bring upgrade for Italian Grand Prix 2 years, 7 months ago
@bookgrub The point you are missing is RP didn’t design the front brake ducts either. The only reason they are allowed to use that design is because it was used in 2019.
So the difficulty comes in “designed the […]

Fair comment @bookgrub, but look at MacL. and that progress is without a top PU.
MrBoerns commented on the post, Kubica: Williams compromised by damage and parts shortage 4 years ago
@bookgrub The thing is though, it was always obvious even in 2014 that Williams was going that way. They were not a top team coming back to the front, they were a backmarker in spirit, always orienting rearwards […]

Jimmi Cynic commented on the post, Ricciardo wins the great Monaco go-slow show 4 years, 10 months ago
@bookgrub: Well stated.
But why stop at special tyres? Why not special cars too? Shorter, lighter, narrower with manual gearboxes and no MGU-Ks!
Monaco is about the bling, the glamour and extravagance – […]
