@eurobrun I wonder if that is true as well, although maybe it is strategic, RB, Ferrari etc are bringing updates and maybe Haas want to see what innovation they bring and help them make a more mature update later […]
Captain Pie commented on the post, Formula 1 confirms two more seasons of Netflix's Drive to Survive 2 weeks, 2 days ago
Lots of negativity on here to DtS. But I quite like it, it sets me up for the upcoming season, injects some excitement by reminding me of some of the previous season excitement, and I can generally ignore some of […]
Captain Pie commented on the post, 2022 Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix sprint race championship points 4 weeks ago
Let’s see if McLaren can take a chunk out of Mercedes tomorrow as well, the race to 3rd is heating up
Cool article, especially the table at the end with the changes and justifications.
@keithcollantine is this information mandatory for all teams when they bring changes or by choice?
It would be awesome if […]
Captain Pie commented on the post, Haas won't hurry new sponsorship deals after Uralkali split 4 weeks, 1 day ago
Rich Energy was definitely a due diligence situation, but Uralkali pretty much 99.9% of the time would have been a safe bet.
The situation with Russia and Ukraine is, similar to Covid, something no one could […]
Captain Pie commented on the post, F1 taking consequences of soaring freight costs "really seriously" 1 month, 2 weeks ago
Yes but that isn’t Haas’ decision, FOM I think manage and organise the shipping and freight costs for racing activities, the teams manage it themselves for facility / non racing equipment etc.
But the starting point every weekend is the same. There will be no ‘number one’ and ‘number two’ driver.
Because we don’t want to alienate the money man… but in reality if 1 driver starts to hit the points cons […]
99% electric, 1% NOS – for some flames out the back for “the show” amirite?
Or cold fusion reactor for each car. Yep that’s the one.
But seriously I don’t expect electric to be the endgame. There’s […]
Captain Pie commented on the post, FIA indicates Masi may not continue as F1 race director 3 months, 3 weeks ago
The deals happened before anyway – not just Masi – but the broadcast of the conversation is new
Captain Pie commented on the post, Channel 4 secures exclusive Formula E live broadcast rights for UK 4 months ago
Won’t watch it on YouTube, maybe do the highlights or catch-up which is more than I do today for FE.
It’s a shame the F1 presenter team aren’t part of it though, feels like they could mix in a Channel 4 motor […]
Captain Pie commented on the post, Will F1's new rules mean a return to single team dominance in 2022? 4 months, 2 weeks ago
Anyone else remember 2013 and RBR concentrating on the championship over the new refs for 2014. Didn’t turn out so well. Yes I know Renault engine issues etc etc, but maybe driven by lack of focus on the new c […]
Captain Pie commented on the post, "Really impressive" Piastri is Tsunoda's top rookie of 2021 5 months, 1 week ago
@jerejj additional fuel load is the penalty for being a lap down? Yes partially unfair but also gives those at the back with higher fuel slightly different strategy on fuel saving etc whilst getting the race […]
@icarby nothing actually got effected – merc got the win as was expected – but bare in mind with these finishing positions Alpha Tauri ended 13 points behind alpine and this happened before anyone knew what was […]
@icarby I believe Checo retired through an oil pressure issue.
Although the cynic in me says it’s so Alpha Tauri could get the better championship points, if Gaslyband Tsunoda could have made some last lap m […]
I half felt that Masi would call a red flag to get the final laps of racing, then the safety car came out. I thought 100% the race would finish under safety car, Mercedes did too.
I am actually pleased it […]
Problem with that is the problems were by race control – how do you penalise a driver for a race control issue. RB just capitalised on this, they also took the bigger risks I. The race which put them in this position.
I wonder if at the next stage of Alonso’s career, after racing, he can take the job of being a steward and revolutionise it. Someone needs to.
“But at least Rich Energy never killed anyone…“ that we know of 😉
Captain Pie commented on the post, Raikkonen 'happy F1 career is soon over' ahead of final races 5 months, 2 weeks ago
Hopefully Raikonnen closes out his career with some better races then Massa got for his last races!
Stewarding is just like refereeing in other sports, subjective for each race / match etc. Maybe we should just accept that we won’t have a consistent experience and move on.
Although something that s […]
