Just another talented person that McLaren have chewed up and spat out. Just like: Martin Whitmarsh Ron Dennis Dave Ryan Pat Fry Eric Boullier Daniel Riccardo Stoffel Vandoorne Checho Perez Kevin […]

jhg103 commented on the post, Now Catalunya's chicane is gone, which tracks would we 'fix'? 1 week ago
I used to enjoy the impossibly tight pitlane and pit entry, the tight entry/exit into T1, the tight chicane at the end of the tunnel etc but it’s all been neutered over the years.

jhg103 commented on the post, Massa's problematic vision of Lance Armstrong-style justice over Crashgate 2 months ago
I am a fan of “the deserved” champion mentality and hence the following championships should just be altered without any further consultation: 2006 – Schumacher 2008 – Massa 2016 – Hamilton 2021 – Verstappen […]

jhg103 commented on the post, FIA no longer applying its limit on F1 cars 'porpoising' 2 months, 1 week ago
It was brought in to appease Mercedes and Lewis Hamilton after his Oscar-worthy dramatics in Baku last year. I guess that since his car is no longer bouncing (largely due to the raised floor rules) this rule is […]

jhg103 commented on the post, Why Hamilton's claim about the scale of Red Bull's dominance doesn't stack up 2 months, 2 weeks ago
Say what you like about Michael Schumacher but he never threw his team under a bus when the machinery was lacking.

jhg103 commented on the post, Red Bull's dominance risks triggering the reaction they are anxious to avoid 2 months, 2 weeks ago
Rushing to change the rules of the sport after two dull races is exactly the kind of behaviour I’d expect from today’s Netflix generation. Remember, this is sport, not a circus.

jhg103 commented on the post, Red Bull as dominant as Mercedes was at start of hybrid era – Wolff 2 months, 2 weeks ago
Red Bull have built a faster car. They’ve done a better job. This is what happens pretty much every season. Why are Mercedes so bitter about this? They’ve done this themselves for years and never seemed […]

jhg103 commented on the post, Mercedes considering "radical changes" to W14 after "very difficult start" 3 months ago
F1 needs a baddie. Plus, the boat has only just unsettled at Mercedes so expect them to become more and more toxic over the next few months.

jhg103 commented on the post, Mercedes considering "radical changes" to W14 after "very difficult start" 3 months ago
I think Mercedes are discovering (as Red Bull and Ferrari have in the past) that no matter how dominant they have been in the past, they’re not entitled to being competitive.

jhg103 commented on the post, Wolff: 'Another really bad start' for Mercedes won't drive Hamilton elsewhere 3 months ago
“Guys, what we need to do is go to press, bang on about how hopeless our season will be and then the FIA might panic and introduce some problems for Red Bull.” – Wolff

That Jordan guy on twitter is particularly bitter about the whole situation.

jhg103 commented on the post, Verstappen confirms the Second Age of Red Bull as Alonso turns back the clock 3 months ago
Yeah, peak Mercedes 2020 kinda reminded me of 2002-era Real Madrid. They had all the power and all the best people but sometimes things just went wrong. Red Bull meanwhile just seem a much tighter ship.

jhg103 commented on the post, Verstappen confirms the Second Age of Red Bull as Alonso turns back the clock 3 months ago
Hamilton (like Schumacher etc) won a lot of races in a superior car. Now he’s having to fight a superior Red Bull, better Ferrari and now an Aston too. I can’t see him winning many more races (let alone another […]

jhg103 commented on the post, Verstappen confirms the Second Age of Red Bull as Alonso turns back the clock 3 months ago
For all the criticism several fans seem to be indulging in dishing out they seem to be forgetting that F1 has always been like this. The exception is when more than one team is on the pace. Who’d have thought […]

jhg103 commented on the post, Rate the race: 2023 Bahrain Grand Prix 3 months ago
Ferrari and Merc fans will no doubt think it was a snooze-fest but Alonso was superb. Reminds me of plenty of races in 2015 when Rosberg struggled to keep with Hamilton but Vettel was keeping us all entertained anyway.

jhg103 commented on the post, 'I don't care if I don't win another race, I'm going to speak out' – Hamilton 3 months, 1 week ago
Imagine if he used the platform that’s handed to him (from a podium or whatever) to broadcast something unpopular or commercially sensitive for the benefit of brand Hamilton. This is why the FIA want to stop it […]

He makes it sound like he was thrown in there (almost against his better judgement) to sort things out so they could become a worthwhile Mercedes B Team.

He beat a 7-time world champion in his first season with Mercedes. This should be celebrated, the boy done good.
It’s quite laughable that Lewis’s cult struggle to accept that George beat him fairly in the same […]

They never fitted it. Tbh it kinda feels like they’re still behaving as though they have a superior car – I wish they’d taken the risk and just stuck it on for P1 rather than hesitantly checking its legality.
