KaIIe commented on the post, Haas doubt Williams can be caught after Hungary windfall 6 hours, 31 minutes ago
Might not be much of a battle. Alfa scored only 2 points in 10 races (3 in 11 if you count Hungary), they should increase the strike rate quite a bit. I’d say the situation is little bit like the Minardi-Jordan […]
I’d place Ricciardo in the struggles list (then again, I haven’t heard how much damage he potentially picked up from the T1 mayhem). Dropping out of points in a McLaren on a day that a midfield team could win a […]
KaIIe commented on the post, Ocon is Formula 1's third new winner in less than a year 1 day, 16 hours ago
Earlier indeed, it was in JPM’s third race in Brazil 2001 where he took the lead of an F1 race for the first time.
KaIIe commented on the post, Russell thanked the FIA but it was Williams who saved him from a penalty 1 day, 16 hours ago
It might be the case of television deals/some other “rules” dictating what should be shown in the world feed: if there is a restart, it must be shown, just like the race winner crossing the finishing line, even […]
KaIIe commented on the post, Spa's Raidillon corner must change says Ilott after huge GT crash 3 days, 15 hours ago
As others have pointed out, there are quite a few factors in what makes Raidillon a dangerous place: the approaching speed (long straight + downhill, even the slowest cars reach quite a high speed), the change in […]
KaIIe commented on the post, Verstappen "surprised" stewards did not wholly blame Hamilton for crash 6 days, 7 hours ago
Then again, he is probably just answering the questions during the press conference (although, if he did not want to say anything, he could just refuse to comment further).
KaIIe commented on the post, Ferrari expect "surprises from midfield teams" under 2022 rules 6 days, 9 hours ago
Indeed. I’m guessing that who ever masters the new tyres will be on top (at least for a while). There may be plenty of talk about aero, as it is easy to see differing bodyshapes, but if someone nails how the 18″ […]
KaIIe commented on the post, Handicap-free tyre choice a strength of sprint qualifying format – Brawn 1 week, 1 day ago
Anyone else had to check who JJ Watt is after his tweet?
Oh, and isn’t the Q2/3 tyre rule already dropped for next year? I seem to remember one set of rules being circulated that had that section removed from […]
KaIIe commented on the post, "A win is a win" says Wolff as Mercedes halt Red Bull's victory run 2 weeks, 2 days ago
Guessing: I think the message wasn’t played entirely on the world feed, and Hamilton might’ve asked something before asking for the correct menu for the situation. Perhaps he wanted to see the gap/delta to Leclerc […]
KaIIe commented on the post, Flying Verstappen fastest by far in only practice session before qualifying 2 weeks, 5 days ago
Well, we only had three races in July in 2020, so it was still rather open :)
I’m highly sceptical but still somewhat open-minded about this format. Let’s test it and then (hopefully) throw it in the bin along with the horrible 2016 qualifying thing.
One positive side is the change in […]
KaIIe commented on the post, Mazepin and Latifi given 30s penalties, Raikkonen 20s, others cleared 1 month ago
Having looked at the accident multiple times, it is pretty clear that Räikkönen turns in on Vettel. If you compare the position of Vettel’s car to the inside white line of the corner, it stays constant, while R […]
KaIIe commented on the post, Igora Drive to replace Sochi as home of Russian Grand Prix in 2023 1 month, 1 week ago
What is this, first some good changes to Abu Dhabi and now we are getting rid of Sochi, one of the worst tracks on the calendar? Yay!
KaIIe commented on the post, Bottas doubts he'll be penalised for "normal mistake" after spinning in pits 1 month, 1 week ago
Weird spin indeed. Does anyone know if the procedure is just to floor it as the car leaves the pitbox and let the electronics (e.g. speed limiter) handle the wheelspin?
KaIIe commented on the post, French GP result was "solid" and "definitely needed" – Ricciardo 1 month, 1 week ago
Wasn’t there some news a few days/weeks ago that the official title will be just “Sprint”, i.e. dropping the qualifying/race title completely.
KaIIe commented on the post, Todt not convinced by Formula 1's 'Sprint' race plan 1 month, 2 weeks ago
There has been plenty of speculation that calling it officially a race would cause some complications to the current TV deals, hence the weird terminology.
Good question. Compare this to large incidents in the past: when Webber did his flip in Valencia, the SC was deployed before the car even reached the barriers.
Fair punishment, horrible communication error by the team. I have no idea why they thought that “stay out” would mean to drive into the pitlane without stopping, instead of staying out on the track.
KaIIe commented on the post, Tsunoda and Sainz explain double crash which ended qualifying 2 months ago
I’m guessing Sainz thought he didn’t have that much damage, but the team told him on the radio that the front wing was stuck underneath the car, and he stopped immediately.
