KaIIe commented on the post, Verstappen wants second DRS zone added to Imola 2 hours, 9 minutes ago
Hmm. If you lose so much time in the dirty air now, would getting slightly closer with the DRS before the Rivazza corners improve anything?
KaIIe commented on the post, F1 poised to confirm 'Sprint Qualifying' races as teams agree financial terms 1 week, 2 days ago
As much as I like trying out new ideas, qualifying is not one of the things that should be changed.
I hope the round in Brazil goes ahead, and the championship will be decided on Saturday. That would be a […]
KaIIe commented on the post, Removal of turn nine chicane to cut F1 lap times by five seconds at Albert Park 2 weeks, 1 day ago
Interesting, I though they would simply use the existing road at the T9-10 chicane instead of redoing everything.
There also seems to be a recent trend of introducing higher speeds at tracks: Baku was hailed as […]
KaIIe commented on the post, New format but familiar problems in Formula 2's first triple-header weekend 2 weeks, 2 days ago
Good points in the article. I watched some of the races, and simply gave up trying to understand the format and instead just watched the action.
KaIIe commented on the post, Performance under pressure still Vettel's weakness – Berger 2 weeks, 2 days ago
“But [Vettel] never reacted very well on pressure.” Yeah, I don’t remember him winning two of his four championships at the last round. If that is not driving under pressure, I don’t know what is.
KaIIe commented on the post, Perez's Q2 stumble leaves Verstappen fighting Mercedes single-handed 2 weeks, 5 days ago
With a 4-tenth advantage, I can’t see Mercedes catching Verstappen. No matter what kind of strategy they try, there is no overturning that kind of pace differential. But I hope I’m proven wrong.
KaIIe commented on the post, Different track limits rules for qualifying and race in Bahrain 3 weeks ago
Ah, the usual F1 thing of overcomplicating things. Based on this, they will change the track from quali to race as the “natural” limits change.
KaIIe commented on the post, Bahrain Grand Prix night race to be solar-powered from 2022 3 weeks, 1 day ago
“Is this actually going to power the whole circuit requirements, or just the lighting?” I think the official F1 site said that they would power all the functions of the track.
KaIIe commented on the post, Which F1 team has the best-looking car for 2021? 3 weeks, 5 days ago
To my eye, there seems to be three categories this year: the good, the “meh”, and the uninspired or just poor design choices. The last one contains Alpine (you could have done much more with those colours!), Haas […]
KaIIe commented on the post, "Very extreme" driving style has helped me a lot – Perez 3 weeks, 5 days ago
Agree with COTD. The novelty value of seeing someone lap 5 seconds a lap faster than anyone else and hence passing everyone wears thin quite quickly.
Then again, if the job of GP2/F2 is to prepare the drivers […]
KaIIe commented on the post, F1 reveals "fastest ever street track" for Saudi Arabian Grand Prix 4 weeks, 1 day ago
It’s like Macao except with the walls in the style of Valencia’s “street” circuit, hence removing most of the challenge. Also reminds me of Baku, in terms of the same hype and length of the track.
And if this […]
KaIIe commented on the post, Ferrari sponsor explains surprise change to bright green logo 1 month ago
I thought the title was a bit click-baity, but after reading the explanation for the change, I have no idea how you would condense that into a brief title.
Hopefully we wont be seeing that green thing on the […]
KaIIe commented on the post, Haas livery was designed before Russian flag ban was announced – Steiner 1 month, 1 week ago
I sense some contradiction in these two sentences: “[t]he WADA restrictions forbid Mazepin and other Russian athletes from displaying the Russian flag and related symbols on their sports equipment for two years.” […]
KaIIe commented on the post, F1's sprint race plan enjoyed "great feedback from everyone" – Domenicali 1 month, 2 weeks ago
Regarding the quote from Leclerc, how does the sprint race allow attacking more? Surely the tyres will go away just as badly in a shorter race, and the dirty aero is still present.
KaIIe commented on the post, Strain on injured hand "a bit painful" during IndyCar test – Grosjean 1 month, 3 weeks ago
Those are naturally ten thousands of a second. Useful in ovals where gaps might be smaller than just three decimals.
KaIIe commented on the post, McLaren-Mercedes return: Their previous 20 F1 cars in pictures 1 month, 4 weeks ago
Yeah, the ’96 cars suffer from some questionable design choices combined with the new-ish safety regulations. Things like the raised cockpit sides make them simply look off (though, in a way, I kinda like them).
KaIIe commented on the post, Hamilton: Senna also faced a system which wasn't always kind to him 2 months, 2 weeks ago
I don’t exactly understand the comparison. The clashes and decisions made by FISA (and Balestre) were highly political in nature, and while Senna can be easily seen as the victim in some of the calls, he certainly […]
KaIIe commented on the post, IndyCar, WEC and WTCR delay 2021 season starts 2 months, 3 weeks ago
Found this quote from the track owners/officials: “This project, which was analysed during the past seasons together with the FIA and the FIM, will improve the safety conditions at both car and motorcycle […]
KaIIe commented on the post, Sainz: It will be tough to match "great talent" Leclerc 3 months, 2 weeks ago
Yeah, Symonds did not really offer any arguments to support his view, just stated that Webber had the ability to rally the team (whatever that means, maybe just his side of the garage?) behind him.
KaIIe commented on the post, Team mate battles 2020: The final score – Gasly vs Kvyat 4 months ago
Gasly definitely shined this year, but Kvyat also raised his game. A solid midfielder that most likely would have a place in F1 if there were more than 20 seats available.
