@fer-no65 I was thinking the same thing, and this also applies I think to having a cracked visor. Any safety element which is compromised should have to be resolved immediately. This sets an awful precedent.
MazdaChris commented on the post, Hulkenberg to make race return in Bahrain after Vettel tests positive for Covid-19 10 months, 3 weeks ago
Always good to see the Hulk on the grid. He’s a driver who I’ve always felt has never been given the opportunities that his talent deserves. Though of course disappointed for Vettel and hope he’s not suffering too […]
MazdaChris commented on the post, Hamilton pleased by smooth start with "very genuine" new team mate Russell 10 months, 3 weeks ago
It’ll be really interesting to see how things develop for this pairing over the year, and I think the relative comptetitiveness of the Mercedes is going to be a big factor. We haven’t seen Hamilton really being […]
MazdaChris commented on the post, First pictures: Red Bull finally reveals its aggressive new F1 car for 2022 11 months, 2 weeks ago
Certainly didn’t disappoint. Other than the aero which I assume is meant to give an aggressive downwash to seal the floor, there’s some very interesting geometry there with the angle of the front wishbones.

I’m interested in your definition here of fairness to be honest. I totally agree that what happened was unfair. However I’d say that any remedy for this should be one which seeks to restore fai […]

You should probably have a read through the sporting regulations because I think you’ll find them to be a lot more procedural in nature than what you’re describing here. It’s concerned with […]

You have to look at the whole wording of Article 48.12 as that basically lays out a sequence of events. Here’s the wording in full:
If the clerk of the course considers it safe to do so, and the […]
MazdaChris commented on the post, Mercedes have "good legal basis" for appeal over Abu Dhabi GP – lawyer 1 year, 1 month ago
I agree, the most likely outcome would be a settlement between the FIA and Mercedes. Any amendment to the race/championship result would create even more unfairness than already exists, and would […]
MazdaChris commented on the post, Mercedes have "good legal basis" for appeal over Abu Dhabi GP – lawyer 1 year, 1 month ago
I’ve seen you claim this in a number of different comments and to be honest I really think you’re misinterpreting something, or clutching wildly at straws with this. Could you please indicate […]
MazdaChris commented on the post, Mercedes have "good legal basis" for appeal over Abu Dhabi GP – lawyer 1 year, 1 month ago
The sporting regulations don’t require lapped cars to ‘unlap themselves’;
” any cars that have been lapped by the leader will be required to pass the cars on the lead lap and the safety
car.”The regulation […]
MazdaChris commented on the post, Mercedes have "good legal basis" for appeal over Abu Dhabi GP – lawyer 1 year, 1 month ago
I don’t think it’s outside the realms of possibility that Mercedes could win a legal case but the result could stand, with the FIA paying damages as a remedy. I don’t see how there could be any real justification […]
MazdaChris commented on the post, Did F1 race control make correct decision over last-lap restart? 1 year, 1 month ago
I see what you’re saying but the objective of completing the race under a green flag could have been achieved without deviating from normal procedure, by simply restarting the race without removing any of the lapped cars.
MazdaChris commented on the post, Did F1 race control make correct decision over last-lap restart? 1 year, 1 month ago
I’ve gone into details on my opions on this on another post, so I won’t repeat, except to say I fall into the ‘strongly disagree’ camp. I feel as though the race director deviated from the normal procedures […]

It’s a 1 from me. I thought the previous race was a total farce but this really takes the biscuit. The race direction this year has been absolutely terrible, with a completely inconsistent approach to penalties […]
MazdaChris commented on the post, Hamilton also summoned to stewards over contact with Verstappen at turn 27 1 year, 2 months ago
Yeah that’s what I mean about it being a miscommunication. I don’t think that Verstappen made it clear that he was allowing Hamilton past, or where he was likely to go on the track. I can understand why Ham […]
MazdaChris commented on the post, F1 is 'more about penalties than racing' fumes Verstappen after Hamilton clashes 1 year, 2 months ago
Verstappen might be better served by reflecting a little on why he seems to be getting penalties every other race. Perhaps he could consider learning how to defend and overtake without crashing or running other […]
MazdaChris commented on the post, Hamilton also summoned to stewards over contact with Verstappen at turn 27 1 year, 2 months ago
Really strange incident for me. I can’t believe that either driver wanted to have a crash, and it seems like a bit of a miscommunication. I don’t see, other than the DRS detection line, why Hamilton didn’t just […]

A 1 from me, and that’s only because there’s no option for a zero. Was is entertaining, thrilling, yeah sure. But it was an absolute farce from start to finish. Terrible circuit in an horrendous country, awful […]
