I’m still puzzled why you can be called in without having set a lap. After all, you are being weighed because you may have set a fast lap time because you were underweight. Which of course you did not do if you […]

I think we can write off any excitement over the driver’s championship now.
You think they will keep Brendon Hartley? I think not, now that they likely will have Kvyat as a yardstick. I don’t know who else would take the seat though.

The yardstick idea is good. 2 seconds faster than Lance – good driver; 1 second faster than Lance – mediocre driver; 0.5 seconds faster than Lance – bad driver.
@matthijs The only direct change made in response to Verstappen was a minimum age requirement of 18 years to enter a Formula One race.

@coldfly Bring back Donington Park then. Senna posted fastest lap while going through the pits when he aborted his stop.

@patrickl If you have the chance and understand German, try watching on ORF (Austrian TV). Excellent commenting by Alexander Wurz. No bias at all as far as I can tell, and a lot of insight. Much better than all […]

The only thing I like about Crofty is that he pronounces Vettel correctly (“Fettle”). @charleski

Not a bad qualifying session. More gravel than I have ever seen. First time I watched in UHD – very nice (although had to endure RTL commentary with their annoying Vettel bias). Hamilton should be able to climb […]
I actually think it is a good idea as it would make battles further down the grid more exciting. I would probably go for the top 15 though as at least in most races, the last one to finish should not get any points.
I don’t agree with Vettel here, whether there is an impact or not on the result should not matter.
Still inconsistent – why were all the drivers in Canada not penalised for impeding Vettel at the end of Q2? […]

Ferrari miscalculated the gap needed for the undercut, and thought 2.5 seconds were enough. I’m quite sure Vettel could have opened up the gap further but was just managing the gap.
You are right – I thought it was banned in 2009, but that was when they changed all the aero only, fuelling only banned from 2010. @davidnotcoulthard
The video is wrong – just watched Toro Rosso and Mercedes though – they also have a mechanic in front of the wheel while they take off the wheel. And that was exactly the phase Ferrari were in – they […]
