The unusual race formation was produced, after no-one was willing to let their teammate in front of them.

I like this. A top team, essentially saying someone did a better job than them, and admitting that they need to step up.
It makes a difference to having teams endlessly complain about each-other’s car, in the […]

In my view, I’d prefer hyping-up to be kept to the build-up of a race. But once the lights go out I’d like to be told what’s happening.
Commentate on the race you have, not the race you want.Part of me thinks this has to do with F1’s commentary being tailored towards its more mainstream following.

Yeah. I read it as more of a casual comment of “even before I got here, that corner has always haunted me”

I’ve enjoyed watching Perez work himself back up after his time at McLaren.
Is he a top-tier talent? I think he’s shown he’s enough of a talent to have a chance at a top team to prove he can compete there. And […]

I guess it also depends on how long Alonso is willing to stay in F1 if he can’t get a title contending seat.

Renault may not be in line with winning races anytime soon, but they’re at least winning points.
Makes me wonder what potential contract details there would be for Alonso.
I’m sure if he fails to win the […]NinjaBadger commented on the post, Carey's priority is to make F1 "a simpler sport" 4 years, 12 months ago
Pirelli have always made alterations to their compounds with each year.
They have also amassed real-world data of the current regulations in action. So it makes sense to use that data to make adjustments. And […]

Damn it Force India! Why do you have to be so successful in getting sponsors to cover your car in?
Hell, if they do pay a fine, it will probably part of a new sponsorship. To be fair, I find the Force India […]

Well, Williams’ last win was in Spain, at the hands of Pastor Maldonado.

It could be down to the circuit itself.
A more open track may offer a better opportunity for someone else to fill in. But for someone to jump into a F1 seat and be thrown into Monaco for your debut; its probably […]NinjaBadger commented on the post, Vettel hopes Red Bull join title battle 5 years ago
If Sauber are to start a collaboration with McLaren and Honda, I wonder if Ferrari are glad Sauber could only afford to obtain their 2016 engine for this season (thus making Sauber’s engine data old in comparison […]

@fer-no65 I think there is some merit to his words (this time anyway).
Its been long considered that the drivers’ championship has the bigger effect with PR (as people tend to be drawn more by personalities). […]NinjaBadger commented on the post, Ricciardo puzzled by Red Bull gains 5 years ago
Don’t worry. I understand that the Grand Prix racing has always been a competition of groups attempting to build the best cars to win races; and the eras of dominance experienced throughout history.
My question […]

When was the last time F1 wasn’t an engineers’ championship?
To the point that prize money is given to the highest scoring constructors?

I’d also prefer Button than a rookie. But in the sense of getting someone-else’s opinion on the McLaren. Button is more likely to give a blunt response, while a rookie would be happy just being there.

Agreed. I’m far more impressed by a driver demonstrating their skill though success in multiple disciplines, than specialising in a sole series (which is impressive in its own right).

@petebaldwin “if we’re saying that 2/3 of the most important races are outside of F1, perhaps it isn’t anymore?”
I think its more to do with each race being the historically iconic race of each respective discipline.

Might be hard with Liberty wanting to squeeze in more races into the calendar.
Maybe have a race in the US in the run up to Indy? So the drivers are “in the area”.
Swap Spain and Canada, and have Monaco/Spain […]NinjaBadger commented on the post, Honda's IndyCar resurgence continues at Long Beach 5 years, 1 month ago
