According to AMuS, Ferrari and Alpha Tauri used more power for their low fuel runs on the Softs. Ferrari gained 0.3 and Alpha Tauri 0.5 on the straights (especially uphill sections) compared to Mercedes.
Yes, anon. I am aware of that and called it a ‘pretty bold’ prediction. The question is how much margin the Mercs & RBs have, compared to the Ferrari.
I know this might be a pretty bold prediction, but from what I’ve seen in practice today I expect Ferrari to challenge for the podium on Sunday.
Here is why: The car was quick from the very beginning (Sainz being […]
Srdjan Mandic commented on the post, F1 likely to dodge rain showers during cool Imola race weekend 1 day, 23 hours ago
Clear sky doesn’t automatically mean it’s gonna be a dry race. With temperatures being on the low side, it might take longer than usual for the circuit to dry out. If the current forecasts are correct, then we […]

Thanks, anon! Now I know why I don’t remember them, they were a little bit ahead of my time =D

It depends. Temperatures in April can vary a lot, also in the Mediterranean regions of Europe. You can get anything between sunshine and 30°C to rain and 15°C. But I agree, temperatures this week seem t […]

We might not even see whether it makes any difference, due to the weather conditions. At the moment the risk of rain for the race is arorund 70-80% (though things can change) and temperatures are not likely to […]
The half wet/half dry conditions were helping Nico, but I agree, he did an impressive job up until he spun the car. But the fact that he was still in 2nd place after the spin and yet he still binned it, […]
Espesially, if the goal is to finish between P4 and P10 ;)
I doubt that he will be. At least he wasn’t there at the last race in Bahrain. He is now part of the ServusTV-team, who are sharing the broadcasting rights in Austria with national TV ‘ORF’. Instead ServusTV send […]
Nico is more consistent than Lance, but I wouldn’t say he’s much better. While Lance grabbed almost every opportunity for a podium, Nico threw all of them away. The 2012 Brazilian GP was the decisive moment in […]
I think it depends on the situation the team is in. If they believe they can turn it around and out-develop RB this season, then yes, it’s certainly a great motivation for everyone at the team. But if the […]
Unlike Otmar Szafanauer of Aston Martin, who solely blames these regulation changes for his car’s lack of performance.
Debrief at Mercedes after the season opener:
Engineer: “Guys, there is a slim chance, maybe 0.0001%, that we not might win the championship this season.”
Toto Wolff: “In that case, make the press know that, if […]
Designed to hurt Mercedes?! That is nothing more than a conspiricy theory.
These changes were introduced for Pirelli not having to build completely new tyres for this season.
And yes, I am aware of the fact that […]

I am starting to doubt that Pat Symonds is the right man for this job. He still thinks like an engineer of a F1 team. By that I mean he is searching for performance, regardless of what consequences it has for the […]
Srdjan Mandic commented on the post, Ferrari quicker than McLaren in qualifying but not race trim – Norris 2 weeks ago
It’s gonna be a fascinating three-way fight between McLaren, Ferrari & Alpha Tauri this season.
I except McLaren and Alpha Tauri to have the edge over Ferrari on faster tracks/those which favor a potent PU and […]
Would Ferrari be even allowed to do that? I thought three was only one upgrade allowed during the season, due to cost saving because of the pandemic.

Thanks :D It was only after I looked at the lap time charts I realized Sainz’s pace was stronger than Leclerc’s.
Obviously, Charles was on of the stars of qualifying, but struggled in the race for […]
