And they can also change final drive ratios freely I believe @stjuuv.
It is likely going to be the case that 8th is only used frequently on the high speed tracks anyway.

@stjuuv –
Putting any emphasis on this “asterisk” nonsense is going to end up working for the double points.
Oh, that’s just silly! I’ve asked a couple of times how that’s possible and you haven’t really given […]

@stjuuv –
95% of the people who watch F1 on TV have never even seen a record book, much less read one. They have, however, seen titles being handed over before the last race, making that race pretty much […]

@stjuuv –
As I said, it’s a silly argument, and if anything, it’s harming the “fight” against double points.
How could that be possible?

@stjuuv – There are many reasons to not like the double points scheme. The main reason being that F1 need not resort to such gimmickry, the sport is above that. Also, that having one race with extra points thereby […]

@stjuuv I think your assumption that beyond a certain limit, the revs are pointless because there is no extra power generated due to the fuel flow limit. I think what you had mentioned about the revs beyond 10,500RPM being less useful is correct because of the fuel flow limitation.
To be honest, I’m not too concerned since there is much greater…[Read more]

@stjuuv Yes but Ferrari did not win championships in those years, the best they achieved was wins and vice-championships. Naturally when you win a championship you want to emulate that next year.
