I think @thejudge has a point in that if we go to another similar layout and temperatures, then that will be the rough pecking order. But with differences so marginal among teams this year, differences between car […]

@thejudge – I don’t think we can believe Valencia at all. We had a pecking order going into the European Grand Prix, but the race itself changed everything. Sure, the Red Bull RB8 is very quick, but it’s always […]

@thejudge – I don’t think we can believe Valencia at all. We had a pecking order going into the European Grand Prix, but the race itself changed everything. Sure, the Red Bull RB8 is very quick, but it’s always been a car that works well in higher temperatures. Silverstone, on the other hand, has been one of the cooler circuits of the calendar, so…[Read more]

@thejudge Pretty much. He can’t have it both ways. If you don’t want constant comparison that has to work for both the good and the bad aspects.

@thejudge no no. What I meant was, with the immensely technical, and very long lap in Singapore, Vettel underheated his tyres for the start of his lap. If he had started his lap with tyres that were on song, at the end of the lap the car would be too ragged and have too little rear stability. Looking at the tyres in 2011, they degraded, but didn’t…[Read more]

Are we discussing the RB7, or RB8? The RB8 is the 2012 car.
In another note – the chassis in itself is very good. I don’t agree with @thejudge‘s assessment that it was very stable. If you watch for example […]

@thejudge – That’s probably the intention. The minute someone works out how weight distribution is managed is the minute that that someone can start adapting their own version of it.
