Nice ratings I tend to agree, although they always seem harsh Alonso on 76 and Lando on 6 for great performances but I get the criteria.

Agreed, I like Will’s rating system but sometimes I’m left a bit confused. How do you say Verstappen wasn’t equally as good as Leclerc this weekend? They both executed flawlessly.. […]

@ifiamnotwerymuchmistaken Great alias :)
I agree, Leclerc executed with class. I tend to weight a good execution for a win higher than a great performance lower down the field. Great to see Mick starting to shine though.
Hans Herrmann commented on the post, Verstappen now has as many poles as Leclerc – but six times as many wins 2 months, 1 week ago
I initially thought this was a meaningless stat that could be applied to any two races in the calendar, given that it’s more likely that a different driver would win the two races than the same driver. What’s […]

More salt in the wound for Leclerc, his ex-teammate that he dominated over his rookie season takes glory at the indie 500

steurui17 first of all it’s just an opinion poll, that means the winner is the best in people’s opinions and facts play a minor role in the result. So if Leclerc continues to dominate, even if it’s due to his […]

But keep in mind, these drivers will be judged not only against each other, but against over 70 years of Formula 1 history. Only the most outstanding, exceptional feats of driving excellence will earn the highest […]
Hans Herrmann commented on the post, Which F1 drivers will beat their team mates in 2022? 5 months ago
Agreed, clear cut in most cases.. I went against the grain for two, George and Mick, I think George might handle adapting to the new driving style better and Mick is bedded into the team at Haas now and can start […]

Good lad! We need more straight talkers in F1.

I guess we all watch F1 for different reasons Joe. I would wish that all teams have by some miracle identical performance and we have a battle of the drivers with everyone in contention until race 23 ;)

@hahostolze True, it’s something I really don’t like about F1, could they not introduce a rule that the drivers must not be associated with sponsorship? I guess that’s another days discussion.
Also, it’s worth […]

That’s a difficult position for HAAS, an ugly and tragic situation, it must be said though that one less pay driver can only be good for the sport.

@davidhunter13 This is exactly why I love this pre-season stage in F1. I guess we’re only really seeing the tip of the iceberg with those ripples at the side.
My guess goes something like: Given the new […]

My guess for the remainder:
7th: Alonso – Cunning and brilliant at times but unimpressive at other times
6th:Sainz – Amazing first season but lacked the sharpness of Leclerc at times
5th: Leclerc – Brilliant […]Hans Herrmann commented on the post, Team orders are bad for F1 even when they are logical – Vettel 9 months, 1 week ago
True, the slightly more subtle team order.
I don’t mind team orders, if Redbull didn’t take a win from Perez because it was his home grand prix and they lost the WDC because of it I’d feel like I wasn’t […]

I mainly agree Gary. I also have faith in Brawn’s approach though and believe he understands the importance of the “avid” fans and also the casually interested flitters, the key is to find a balance. I believe […]

The basic rule of thumb that Hamilton’s idol Senna used is that you need to be on the right tyres at the right time. Sounds over simplified but I think that’s what Bonno knew should happen when he asked Hamilton […]
