KeymasterIt’s the 2011 Bathurst 1000 tomorrow. Who’s your tip for victory in the blue riband round of the Australian V8 Supercars championship?
A late rain shower helped Greg Murphy and Allan Simonson to a surprise pole position. Here’s how it happened:

ParticipantI think Lowndes/Skaife, or maybe Courtney/McConville

ParticipantI’d have to tip Lowndes/Skaife. They are a superbly strong line up.
But to be honest, an outsider win would be nice, you never know with Bathurst. Maybe one of the older boys.

ParticipantI would like to see Davison/Youlden win for Ford. Though it always hard to pick a winner, being such a long race anything can happen, safety car at wrong our right time, kangaroos on track, or rain on the top of the mountain.

ParticipantAlways wondered what the thoughts were of the British about the Aussie V8 Supercars? Any UK fans of it?

ParticipantI’m a fan – although I’m rather biased saying that!
It’s probably the premier touring car series in the world. Might not be the most prestigious, but it’s easily the most demanding and almost definitely the most exciting.
And thanks to Besnard, the most dramatic too…

ParticipantWaters and Denyer.. Why oh why would they put a 17 year old rookie in the car for the Bathurst 1000??
5 laps into his first stint and he sticks it into the wall. Don’t get me wrong I’m sure the kid has talent but to jump from racing a Formula Ford at circuit where a mistake means a trip across a gravel trap to racing a V8 Supercar at Bathurst is too big a jump.
With Cameron leading the Formula Ford Championship, my advice to him would be follow the path another young, talented Formula Ford Champion took.
FF – Fujitsu Series – Enduro Co-driver – V8 Supercar Driver
That path is certainly working for a young Mr Percat..
