How long can Vettel extend his lead with second places

    If vettel finishes second to Hamilton this weekend he would still extend his lead by 2 points. How long can this go for until he locks the championship.

    If Hamilton wins every race until the end of the season with Vettel finishing second every race until the end of the season, Hamilton will take the lead of the championship after the Abu Dhabi GP.

    Not that that will ever happen, mind.

    No of races reqd to close in by Hamilton= Total Points differential / Incremental points in each race.
    i.e. (172 – 124) / (25 – 18) = 6.85 ~ 7th race from now.
    which is Abu Dhabi.
