braisim replied to the topic How will you watch F1 in 2019? in the forum
Formula One 4 years, 1 month ago
Watching in Belgium, on Channel 4. Will continue to watch C4 (even if no longer any live races). Might try F1TV.

Am I the only one who thinks that the Texan-style ‘racewear’ worn by the Red Bull drivers looked a bit silly? Daniel Ricciardo’s angst after his car’s breakdown was in fact due to him being spotted out of the car […]

@armchairexpert Is the amount of fuel put in his car really Magnussen’s decision?

My god that new nose looks so ugly! But if it works…

For the races not shown live on BBC sometimes I combine German RTL with Radio 5 Live commentary streamed from the BBC. There is no longer any F1 FTA in Belgium. The RTL/BBC option works ok but the 5 […]braisim commented on the post, Engine situation could force Red Bull out – Horner 7 years, 10 months ago
@Corrado I don’t agree with your reasoning. There are plenty of car companies doing well who have nothing to do with motorsport. Hyundai? (at least as far as I am aware). Car companies just as often attach their […]
braisim commented on the post, McLaren have only done a 12-lap run and start last 7 years, 11 months ago
Way too early to do that. You’re writing this before the first race has even started. They have to try and get any number of laps under their belt.
braisim commented on the post, F1 loses 175 million TV viewers in six years 7 years, 12 months ago
Keith, number 3 for me — I watch less F1 since only 10 races are now available live FTA on BBC.
I guess Bernie doesn’t care if viewership goes down and pay-TV providers are happy to pay out. I’d love a pay per […]
braisim commented on the post, Ferrari concerned over F1's falling popularity 8 years, 1 month ago
Ferrari could make a start with making it a proper sporting experience by foregoing their special prize payment and using that to lower the cost for the circuit owners. This would make a more level playing field […]

So after the grotesque Putin Grand Prix we’ll have another vanity project F1 in Azerbaijan. How depressing.

Agree about the BBC highlights – usually they work well but this time they didn’t do justice to the race. It looked like there were very few slack periods in the race – the whole race was a highlight maybe?
braisim commented on the post, Lotus investor believes Hulkenberg will get the drive 9 years, 3 months ago
Yes but Lotus’ wage bill will be lower next year without Kimi. Plus they get the same constructors result as last year (4th) so no big change. Plus their new investor means that have more money to spend on the […]
braisim commented on the post, Whitmarsh defends Perez over Rosberg criticism 9 years, 3 months ago
I don’t see how Rosberg can complain. There was never going to be space for him to get around Perez at that point and he wasn’t even alongside.

A bit marginal to this topic, but does anyone know why Hulkenberg moved from Force India to Sauber for this season? I never really worked that out. Was he pushed out? If not, in retrospect it wasn’t a good idea.
braisim commented on the post, Will F1's UK audience recover from its 2012 slump? 9 years, 11 months ago
sorry, but your figures don’t stack up. I can’t think of one single Sky-commissioned programme that I would pay for. On the BBC on the other hand I have countless documentaries, at least a half-decent television […]
braisim commented on the post, Will F1's UK audience recover from its 2012 slump? 9 years, 11 months ago
Not sure I agree. I think a healthy audience will remain for F1 on FTA. I thought I had read somewhere that the BBC’s (per-race) figures had held up pretty well despite only having half of the races live in […]
braisim replied to the topic Which ten F1 races do you want live on the BBC in 2013? in the forum Formula One 10 years, 3 months ago
I’d go with the following. To be honest, I have never found that Monaco lives up to the hype (it’s generally a snore-fest) so would be more than happy to watch highlights only, if necessary. Have put in Malaysia as it’s nice to get a good chance of a wet race. One problem with my selection is the long gap between Malaysia and Canada.
